Golf Club at Equinox & Stratton Mountain CC

Any feedback on these course? Layout, condition, etc. would all be appreciated.

 

I am headed up there in a month and curious what I am in store for.

Played Equinox for the first time last month when I went up for a buddies weekend. One of my favorite NE layouts (especially if you like old school design)... Falling in love with Walter Travis gems. The layout was excellent and the grass conditions were perfect (don't hit it in the rough, not too long but super thick).

 

Was supposed to play Stratton as well that weekend but instead played Rutland, Green Mountain National, and Okemo.

I'm torn between GMN and Okemo as my preferred modern course in the neck of the woods. Both excellent courses.

I've played Stratton a few times now, and for mountain golf it can be quite fun. Added benefit is that it's 27 holes so you can get a little extra out of it. I am playing there at the end of the month, and just hope that it dries up a little bit prior to then. As you can imagine in the mountains, all the water ends up on a select few holes that happen to be at low elevation. No fun losing balls because they plus 4 inches in.

That is good to hear about Okemo! We had our annual Killington trip this past weekend (Quechee/Killington/GMN) and decided for next year we are going to give Okemo a go. GMN was probably in the best shape I've seen it but Killington had some rough spots.
