I would go to a golf store if some flavor and try them.

The opinions you are going to get are that of what the poster likes. Being that the grip is the only physics connection to the club, preference is quite personal.

For example, I for one hate cord grips.

If you want the best grip you can get, it’s going to be quite expensive. Bestgrips leather grips will offer the longest lasting grip that actually gets even more grip when it is wet, but they do not come cheap.

I've done my own grips for many years, and had always replaced Ping grips with more Ping grips. Several years ago, first one and eventually all of the guys in my regular foursome went to CP2's, and every time I picked up one of their clubs, I would think to myself how great those grips feel. It finally dawned on me that there was a message in that.

I started using them about three years ago, and it's hard to imagine something better, really, and I see a ton of them when I'm at a tournament. Great durability, great in wet weather, and above all else, just great feel.

Tour Velvets are tough to beat.

I always tend to go back to TV 58 rounds. TV cords/Z grips are good options too for rainy days, but be prepared to rip through some gloves.

Grips are tricky to get right, but luckily they're pretty cheap and easy to change if you don't like them. IMO, I would install a few different grips and see which one you like the most before regripping your entire set.

Questions:

How much do you play?

When you say you need a grip that is good when it is "wet"...are you asking about humidity or in the rain?

I moved to a very high humidity area once, and put Tacki Mac grips on my irons. While this might not be the absolute best grip overall, for the purposes of holding the club well in a high humidity environment (for me, at least) these worked great! I still have them on that set of clubs, and they are still playable (over 10 years old).

That said, I prefer Tour Velvet, but the newer Tour Wraps are pretty good as well.

All that said, the best advice has already been given: try a number of different types of grips. You might spend $20 +/- to find the "right" ones for you, but then you will know for sure!

^^^This, if you don't mind cords^^^

The cords are not as "aggressive" as some other models, but as long as you wipe them down occasionally and don't store in your trunk, they stay supple and the cords get more pronounced the more the rubber wears down. I'm nearing +/- 150 humid summer rounds on mine and they still have a ton of life left.

Like others have said though, the grip is your only connection to the club, so get what feels best to you. If you like the original OEM's, find a place to order them online or take them to a Ping authorized dealer and have them order.
