Trouble brewing in the dorm.

Which one of you took a run at the other's roommate?

Siegel has been waiting in the wings for years for things to break down, so he can swoop in and be Domes' rebound.

played with the hot metal this weekend.

So - it's still a 4iron. It's not magically as easy to hit as a PW. The metal isn't that hot.

But it's noticeably better than the JPX 800 pro 4iron. I still need more time off the grass with it. But I hit good and not good ones with it off the tee a few times, and there was certainly a difference in distance between the good and bad swings, but they all went straight. I'm cool with that.

It was an amazing weekend of ball golf. EPP with Siegel, Domes, and Aiiyer was a blast on Saturday. I had never been there before, but I was pleasantly surprised. They had grass, it was cut, and they had holes with flag sticks inserted on the greens. Great course. Favorite part of the day was Siegel's choice of golf balls. He used an awesome looking blue Volvik ball on the first hole. He flared his tee shot right, hit his approach over the green, then chipped in for birdie. He was on 59 watch immediately. Then that golf ball never saw the course after that moment and was benched for a Truvis. Incredible. I stuffed some approach shots and hit a few really good chips on the day as well.

On Sunday I got out to Woodmore with DSC and Hutch (he is in the Hive but not the thread). The greens are in great shape and are moving pretty quickly, finally. There's still more bounce and roll in the rough than there is in the fairways, so there's that. But it was another beautiful day.

Yesterday I played WoMan with Domes and DaveChen. We teed off at 8am and never saw anybody in front of us or behind us all day long. That course is in GREAT condition right now. It's even greened up in the past couple weeks. Those fairways and greens are so firm and fast, I absolutely love it. I am pretty sure I set a record for putts in a single round with 41. That included a 1-putt birdie on the 11th. Only 8 3-putts for me and NO 4-putts. Is that even possible? I think I had a couple of frutts not added to that total. No clue WTF happened, but the cup felt half the size and I was either 6 feet short or 12 feet past. There were some pins on slopes, so the ball would really roll out near the hole.

It's been a great season of golf overall for me. My cap has come down a lot in the past year and my ball striking is noticeably better and more consistent. I still have the occasional chunk and cold top, but they are becoming less frequent. I've also picked up some yardage off my tee ball and cut down on the massive banana ball. I talked a big game earlier in the season about hitting the range and getting lessons. That never happened. I might hit 10-20 shots before playing a round, but in general, my reps have come on the golf course. I think I've played around 65-70 rounds this year. But I am seeing progress so that's pretty fun for me. A big key for me has been focusing on grip strength and eliminating tension from my swing. Also limiting the length of my back swing. The shorter it is, the more consistent contact I make.

Lastly, Fall Golf is the best.

I haven't had a chance to get to the range and hit balls, but I've taken a lot of CSPCs with it. My takeaway seems noticeably better so far. Should have a chance to get out there this afternoon and see some balls flying.

I bought these last summer, definitely the most comfortable pair I own. If I had seen this sale I definitely would have bought another pair, they're a steal at that price.

I rolled out of work early to play yesterday, and ended up at Waverly.

I haven't been out there since August. The conditions are absolutely perfect now. There are still a few dried out spots, but overall the rough has come back. The fairways are dense, firm, and cut tight. The greens were just awesome. The two biggest trouble greens, 8 and 12, were in great condition. Those two greens have been trash for the better part of two full seasons, and they were great yesterday. Now that we're into fall and poa annua season has passed, the greens that had a good amount of poa in them have really been overtaken by bent. The super deserves a pat on the back, and a nice little bonus.

Add the dead nuts perfect weather on top of that, and it might've been the best remaining golf day at Waverly this year. With rain coming in today, and looking like next week, it seems like things are going to soften up a bit.

So I'm at BL yesterday and notice a Chromesoft truvis makes it into my bucket. There was a 99% chance I was going to snag the ball anyway since it was in mint shape but then I saw the Woodmore logo as the Truvis mark and it said 1923 on it. NOICE. Took two shag balls out of my bag, put them in my bucket and swiped the good one. That seems like a legit trade to me.

But what kind of dunce hits a brand new Chromesoft at the range?

What's "BL" again?

Is the range anywhere near a hole? Like at Waverly, I figure balls from 10 and 11 can wind up on the range.

I know some guys seem to think it's about on the same level as robbing a bank, but I don't have any more qualms about swiping a Pro V from a range bucket than I would if I found it in the rough next to a hole. A player hit a ball onto the range. The picker picked it up. It showed back up in my bucket. When I took lessons at Cross Creek, if a good ball showed up in the bucket, the pro would give them to me.

I found one of those three-strip Callaway balls the other day on the course and I've been hitting that. It's not noticeably different than any other ball for me.

Sweet, good to hear. Playing a scramble there tomorrow. Supposed to be 20-30 mph winds and in the 50's all day.

I'll quadruple down on my assertion yesterday was the best golf day remaining at Waverly this year. It's gonna be soft AF out there if we get an inch of rain today, so a scramble tomorrow is going to shred that course. Hopefully they at least go CPO, and the wind protects the greens from getting too beat up by ball marks.

I think its pretty normal, maybe even on the wide side for me.

I have a wider foot too and will not always get along with certain shoes that have a narrow toe box.

Burke Lake is a large range with an 18 hole par 3 course. So there is a hole that runs down the left side of the range but its 150 yards long with trees lining the range/hole border. Not super likely there are going to be a ton of balls there but thats definitely the most likely culprit.

Monday and yesterday were definitely sweet golf days. Today's rain should be mostly dried out by Sunday for the 7s, which is what matters. Some possible rain has crept in to the Sunday forecast. When I looked the other day it was sunny and 70. Now it's cloudy, 65, low chance of rain.

My next big company is going to be a weather forecast service that always shows it as really crappy on the weekend. Then when you start getting 3-5 days out and know it's not going to be so bad, you start improving the forecast to be more accurate. I feel like this would play well with old folks and golfers. It's a bit niche, but there are probably tens of dollars in this idea.

Yeah, sunday isn't looking as great as it once was.

Maybe he was just being polite because he thought you were too poor to rent a cart.

He did also ask me whether I work or was in school on the first hole yesterday, so you're probably right.
