Anyone finding Fabb's insistence over yesterday being the last good day of the year to play Waverly odd?

FWIW, Turf was PRIMO. Fairways were green, but firm. Greens are perfect and fast. But, one day of rain isn't going to ruin anything anywhere.

Smalls vs Talls Update :

Captains Siegel and Aiyyer are putting together the line ups.

We're going to have 6 matches. I asked Siegel to pick 6 golfers, then Aiyyer fills in HIS 12, then Siegel fills in the remaining 6.

The only forced pairing was Tex and Tex's buddy, playing in his first Hive event.

This is what Siegel came up with. I thought he'd make pairings. He didn't.

It is odd. I bury my head in the sand over odd things sometimes.

Not the last good day, but the best remaining day. I think the courses are going to get softer. The weather was 68-70 degrees, sunny, and a little breeze. I don' think we'll see that combination of weather and course conditions again in 2019.

THDC will also be brought in in an effort to determine where the small's have the best chance of putting points on the board. I'm confident that he and I can pretty accurately estimate the round scores.

I overheard their conversation on the phone. It was the perfect call. No quid pro quo.

Oh, btw, no idea if anybody is attempting to buy 2020 Ryder Cup tickets, but I've been sitting "in line" since 11am when the process started. I'm probably not going to buy tickets, but I wanted to go through the process to see what it's like. Seems to be a joke so far. So much for their "lottery" system.

Played there 2 weeks ago and it was in fantastic shape. I loved it.

Also, my Ryder Cup screen updated. Match Day tickets are now sold out, but weekly packages and practice day tickets remain available. Not that it matters because I'll never get to the front of the line.

I think it's set up to be pretty fair. Talls got to pick the singles matches for the 6 guys that the Smalls put out first. Smalls get to pick for the remaining 6. The way Siegel did it makes some interesting choices because we have to think about who might get paired there. But then our picks may/should change his pairings.

Lot's of intrigue leading up to a tournament that's going to amount to the equivalent of the Talls scoring 7 runs in the first inning. It'll be over before the pitch n putt.

In the ongoing saga of Dave-Can't-Keep-Score, I was following Junior around Laytonsville on Saturday. He was playing a MCG Junior tournament. He always has a bad case of first tee jitters, so as usual, he yanked his drive left into the junk. Double. He did that again on #4. Another double. On #5 he hit the green and then 4 putted. Yet another double.

I wasn't keeping track of his score, but he must have been in the high 40's on the front. It was so bad that I thought about not walking the back with him. Just couldn't stand to watch it. He did play better on the back, but still, I figured he ended up near 90. Turns out he shot an 83 for 4th place. Not bad, all things considering.

But, yeah, don't count on me for scores.

meatDave just came by the office and tried to guess the twist. wasn't even close.

Little did he know that if he scanned the big printed out QR code sitting on my desk, he would have been taken to a page that explains it.

Going to see Joker tonight.

Gotta admit, the amount of, and severity of, negative reviews get more more excited for this than they normally would.

Did anyone else see this [tweet](https://www.golfdigest.com/story/the-honesty-from-this-washington-nationals-fan-is-something-we-should-all-strive-for "tweet") going around?

That's actually a friend of mine. He's hilarious, but literally didn't know the Nats were playing the night of the wild card game when I ran into him a few weeks ago about an hour before the game started.
