Seems like this needs some expounding, I will do my best to fill in the "read between the lines" meaning of this post.

 

Dear OCGolfRick,

I deeply apologize for the lack of prepardeness of the Tall roster and matchups. I know that everyone is waiting with breathless anticipation so we can begin the smack talk and side betting. However, it must be noted that I am not entirely to blame. I subbed out the actual making of our matchups to Vice Tall Chair SullGolf. As you can tell, this has been a monumentally bad decision, possibly the worst decision in the history of decisions, maybe ever. Turns out that Mr. "I have every function on Excel memorized." forgot that walking golfers and riding golfers have to be kept together. The CityGame will post soon and inform the entire thread of this error. To correct this, we shall get the pairings out as swiftly as we can, and to punish Mr. SullGolf I have made him the anchor in the penultimate match. The hopes and dreams of the Talls finally beating the Smalls after our first year of glory rest on his shoulders. Again, my deepest apologies.

Romphims are not super comfortable to golf in, or so I've heard. They're probably not as bad as a prison jumpsuit, but they suffer from some of the same design flaws.

I feel like there was a time when Gmen used to use words, and at some point he started expressing himself entirely with GIFs. I love it. He needs to just show up at the 7s with an iPad full of GIFs, quietly displaying the proper one at the proper moment.

The top and bottom being connected is not ideal for golf. You start twisting your torso, lifting your arms and moving them across your body, and the bottoms start pulling up on your crotch and eventually feeling like it's limiting your range of motion.

Sweet. Haven't played with Thread Hero Dave Chen in quite some time, and never as a direct teammate. Dude is nails in match play, especially when he doesn't know if his putt is to win the hole or not. Them Talls in trouble.

Thanks a lot to Aiyyer and Siegel, and DH Sully for putting the match-ups together through a confusing set of emails and indications.

 

I love the idea of the entire thing coming down to former CC MVP X-Hoop and Young Chen on the chip-n-putt. The exposure to the score-keeping prowess and cold-blooded wickedness of XHoop is something that YoungChen has been deprived of his entire existence and can only be seen as a huge benefit to his future. It might also make sense to start subtly undercutting his confidence since he'll be a tall in like 2 years.

I was trying to get myself or Fort out against XHoop or THDCJr. I saw us 4 as the best ~~baggers~~ net players at the moment. The way the picks worked, THDC Jr wasn't on the board when we picked, so that ended up randomly. Talls have a poor understanding of the comish's picking rules, so I thought I was going against XHoop, but Jr is a good adversary.

 

It should be a good match. Shame the talls will have won it all before we get to the pitch and putt.

I doubt that. We are not a tall people. No way is he gonna be taller than Ole Kent. Well, not without some help on Kent's part.

 

I was always the shortest kid in school. And my dad was always the shortest kid, even in poor, WWII era Taiwan where everyone was underfed.

THDC has no recollection of said defeats, especially if you look at his version of the scorecards.

Heh.

 

Another my dad story (which I might have told). Dad was a psychiatrist working for the Veterans Administration. So, yeah, he had lots of PTSD veteran patients. Any time he had a new patient, he'd ask them if him being Asian would be a problem. If so, he'd gladly refer them to another doc. He did have a patient lunge at him once. He never talked about it, so I don't know if it was flashback or something.
