This is the time of year when ~~I~~ people start shopping around for dumb golf crap they really dont need - like the $500 swing aids Sully bought.

 

I think I may have topped it last night by seeing that Motocaddy is releasing a pair of heated push cart mitts that plugs into the USB port. I dont know how much draw its going to take from the battery but if its cold enough for mitts theres no chance I'm out there pushing more than 18 anyway.

FTR, I have no idea how someone made music-biopics like _Bohemian Rhapsody_ AFTER Dewey Cox. I really though Dewey Cox was going to put an end to all of that. It's like they ramped it up.

 

At least Rocketman tried to do something a little different. It was like half musical, half biopic, but it still hewed too closely to the "Walk Hard" formula.

 

I hate _Bohemian Rhapsody_ SO MUCH. It's easily my most hated movie from the last 10 years.

 

I liked _Joker_ a lot. But, the best thing I've seen lately is still _Death of Dick Long_. (caveat : I don't expect many others to like that movie)

Bohemian Rhapsody was ok and I thought Rocket Man was ok for a kinda musical,Taron Egerton was impressive in it.But have to agree with City Dewey Cox is by far the best of music biopic movies.

Alright. It's Friday. 48 hours to the 7s. I'll take a $5 bet on every tall in the big course singles matches. I'd also take a chip and putt bet with one person for $1 per event (i.e. when talls win all 8 singles matches, you give me $8).

 

I don't think this is the case, but if anyone besides me has ever gotten any weird hive trophies, I'm willing to bet my limited edition NGB7s pimple poster on the talls. I've been using it as an outlet protector behind the crib recently. Sweet dreams baby.

Had Van Winkle 10 year and Special Reserve 12 year bourbon on Wednesday night. They were at a restaurant the roommate and I went to for a reasonable price, and since I've only ever seen them for something mindbogglingly expensive, I decided to give them a try. Looked it up later, turns out the MSRP is only like $60, but the aftermarket prices are f'ing crazy, like $500+. Which is dumb. I mean, they were good, but I could definitely find something equally enjoyable for under $100. Also, liked the 10 more than the 12, so there's that.

 

Good enough that if I actually saw them in a liquor store for the normal price, and not some obscene markup, I might buy them both. Not good enough for me to be particularly upset if I don't see the bottles on the shelf.

It was $160 retail. Which is pretty stupid expensive for what it is. But I think it works. I posted it in the Instruction thread, but it has me getting in the backswing position that Joy B was working on me with last year. It's cheaper than seeing her twice. I've certainly spent money on dumber things.

Yeah the pricing has been like this for the last 8-10 years. I will only ever buy it if I can get it at retail, Virginia runs a lottery system for stuff like that. The good news is that you'll pay retail, the bad news is that you'll never actually get selected. I dont know why people will pay $7-800 for a bottle of the 15yr on the black market, I really dont. Even if you stuck with that price range of American stuff, thats....15 or so bottles of the Jack Daniels Single Barrel - which is one of my favorites. No brainer right there. I still have @ half a decanter of the 15 year from 2017. Not that its bad, its just not worth the 10x markup.

I can only assume this was the guy that caused the admins/mods to have to come out and explicitly say "no upskirt pics". Then he transitioned very slightly to other creepy stuff that was on the right side of the rule as written.

Played a place called The Virtues Golf club outside Columbus yesterday. Dad made the solid bro move and drove from Pittsburgh to meet me. He's a road warrior.

 

Unfortunately American decided not to put my clubs on the airplane I was in, instead loading them on the next flight. They're supposedly at DCA right now. We'll see. Luckily I was going to a construction site and had my hiking shoes. Bought a couple of rack rate prov1 sleeves and a glove and was fine. Rented ap3s.

 

Virtues is an Arthur hills design and it's easily my favorite of his I've played. Tons of good land out here. Every hole was sort of on it's own, trees are set back significantly. Good mix of shorties and longies. All the par 3s were similar distance.... Only complaint.
