So Player A is going to hit 3 balls in the water - and on two of those he's making 6?

BM11 is a good example, I was trying to think of a longer all water par 3 in the area but couldnt pull one off the top of my head.

So if Player A hits his tee shot in the water, what is his most likely score?  He is basically reteeing so his best score is a 5, but he bring 6+ into play quickly.

Played Little Bennett this morning. Dew Sweeper at 0700. It is in great shape. They had aerated the greens with the small prongs and the greens are great.

Hooked up with a couple of older guys and they were hilarious. Still had game in the late 70s. each had a birdie on a different par 3. The other guy hovered over talking trash while  the other tried to make the putt. I played the white tees with them. The course plays 3-5 strokes easier from the white. Birdied 17 but then 3 jacked #18 from across green, which wasn't surprising. First round in 2 1/2 weeks. Great to be back out

This is interesting, considering the YouTube algorithm just recommended me The Fried Egg's video on Winged Foot and its greens. They spent a couple minutes talking about how Billy Casper layed up for four straight rounds on a tough par 3 and won the tournament.

A GPS is helpful on some of those more daunting holes. At least then you can get a front yardage and play for a bump and run.

#17 above is 20 yards shorter than #12 at The Cardinal.  Plus you can miss long and left all day on #17.  Or you can take the Sensible Sully play and go wedge / wedge to the 10th green.  Guaranteed bogey, Net 3.

You go long and left on 17 and you’re in the crap. There is a downslope on the left of the green and cart path so anything in that direction is gone.

"I probably had two squirrels, a rabbit and a skunk following me," Casper said in a recent telephone interview. "I was just a young guy. Nobody knew me."

Good pull Tungsten.  Sean's a yuge squirrel fan.

He got up and down for par every time.

Guessing Billy didn't hit any bladed chop half wedges like I've (unfortunately) witnessed Sean do on multiple occasions.  <Shudder>

I got $10 on Sully if OCGolfRick's still taking bets.

(Whipsers to @Ocgolfrick: hey buddy, I like the confidence, but I've never played Blue Mash before.)

AltSean ,where is the confidence?  You never saw OCGC Newport Bay before either, and look how that went!  If it helps you, just visualize me beside you- pointing out hazards and preferred lines to take.  And you're what, 6'3", a member of our nations military, and have been playing this game at a high level.  I'm not asking you to beat the field here, just a sandbagging soulless ginger.  And look, if the worst happens, its only $5- of which I won $10 from you on betting anyway.

On that note Eagle1997, betting window for OCGolfRick is closed.  I'd hate to make Sully feel bad by disappointing DCMIdnight AND you.

Looks like OCGolfRick laid up then fatted his approach.

Thanks Coach!  I'll fight the good fight against Sandbagging Sully and OldManVinay.  At the end of the day, you and I can still enjoy a craft beer and make fun of @eagle1997

@SullGolf is a past champion, and perennial threat for the net.  I said something to Tumor before their colony collapse match that Sully was either going to be sort of a pushover, or an an absolute bear.  I think it all starts with getting off the tee for him.  If he's hitting the D well, he's going to be an unusually proficient fairway and green machine, for a player of his handicap range.  His past net CC win, he played the first playoff hole super routinely to grab the W.  On the other hand, I've played with him when he's out of sync off the tee, and he's just throwing away his strokes right off the bat on way too many holes.  I like his chances of the former guy showing up, on a track he feels comfortable at like Blue Mash.

That's about right.  If I get off the tee okay I play well, if I don't I play like dog poop.  I don't think I've finished middle pack in any net events yet.  It's either in the top or way at the back.  I've played Blue Mash a bunch, but I'm not sure I've ever put up a great score there either.

I actually played poorly against Tumor but he was scoring about as bad as he could have.  All of the little match play things went in my favor.

This is a really good breakdown of @SullGolf 's game. His iron play and GIRs is very high for his HC level. Once in play, he hits a lot of greens. That said, I think he putted slightly better with the Black Sully Spyder vs. the Red.

I am flying home to Alabama on Sunday. I will be playing most of the time while there. The link below was the course I grew up playing and can't wait to play again. It has some really tough par 3's from the tips. Personally I would take a long iron and play for my miss being in the bunker. Hope everyone is hitting them solid! Finally uploaded a tee shot of mine. I hadn't been to the barber but the swing was decent. Still working on staying down through the shot and maintaining my power.
