Chief brought Tiger's sandwich to my attention, so naturally I came here to see what the word is. Disappointed to see no heated debate about it.

if you're a golf nut, you need to check out this video:

I don't love all of the NLU content but this one is fantastic. Gives you a peak at the best womens golf team ever assembled and what life looks like for them. Brings back alot of good memories for me from college

Great video.

Great video.  My college golf experience was quite different.  We were the forgotten athletes at Univ of Vermont.  It was a D1 experience with perks but our coach was also the hockey coach.  I’m honestly not sure if he saw me play a full hole ever and I was captain for 2 years.  We would hop in the van, take our marching orders, then meet up when it was over.  The guy was also coaching an international NHL ready hockey squad,  so I can’t be mad about it … 😂

You know the man/myth/legend?

I was a HS hockey player in NE in the late 80s and ran across him at a couple camps, where he made crystal clear that I wasn't nearly good enough to play for him. Not that he was the least bit wrong......

Nice.  His NE accent was thiiiiick.  Also drove like a maniac - definitely dodged a few bullets on those late trips back in the van.  I was Marty St. Louis year at UVM so let's just say we were treated 'different'

Sounds very similar to my experience, although it wasnt D1. Coach the first 2 years was an 80 year old chemistry professor that had coached Bubba and hated my guts. Alot of good times though, video brought alot of memories back

Hi all, I’ve received some great recommendations from this group in the past. Hoping to test the well again.

My dad will be coming down to visit for Father’s Day weekend and I want to take him to a nice course to play 18. I have heard the courses out towards Frederick are awesome, so I’m honed in on Worthington Manor, PB Dye, Whiskey Creek, and Musket Ridge. Do people prefer one of these more than the others? I haven’t played any of them yet, so hoping for some insight.

thanks all.

Played them all and some recently.  Here's my ranking in order of best overall experience.  Just my .02 cents!

1.  Worthington

2.  PB Dye

3.  Whiskey or Musket

Worthington is a challenge and a great layout.  You'll hit every club in the bag.  They host qualifiers and recently had the US Amateur qualifier there.
PB Dye has made a comeback as far as I am concerned.  New ownership poured a lot of money in the place and it's currently in great shape.  Practice facility gets a slight nod over Worthington (if that matters).
Whiskey and Musket are nice tracks but Whiskey gets a ton of play and I find it to be a bit boring.

P.S. don't count out Maryland National.  It's up there in that area and a good challenge.

Easily Worthington for me ...

Sorry to hear that about Muskets condition ... haven't played yet this season

Check out Blue Mash too

Lots of great courses in the area

Worthington Manor seems to be the top choice from early responses. I appreciate the feedback and will be looking for times there. PB Dye peaks my interest as a #2, maybe we can play 36 or play back to back days to get on both. Thanks all

Played Worthington Saturday and it's in prime shape. As for the others, I would play Worthington twice rather than pay double to play Whiskey. It's a great course and I played 36 there a little earlier this year with alot of the guys here, but it's almost twice the price of Worthington and the range blows. PB is above Musket for me although I'm not a huge fan of either layout. Blue Mash is a good pick as one of the other guys mentioned and greens were flawless when we played it in April.

Would recommend you reserve soon. Sunday morning tee times for Father’s Day are generally gone already.

Worthington all day, man. This time of year especially, the conditions of the course are better than a lot of private clubs.

WM is a great course and usually moves along OK. It can be tough on really hot days. There is little shade.  Greens are can be extremely quick though probably not as much now in mid-summer.

Come warmed up, its tough right away. Get through the first 5 or 6 and it gets a little easier, imo. I usually score better on the back than the front.

A definite visual improvement and also helps make the wind more consistent. Im betting it helps the condition of the green (probably alrdy has) with both light and air flow

The Tour exposed itself as weak and terrified. LOL. Yeah I absolutely believe it - the new league holds zero cards. Zero. None. You think money is a card for guys who make millions or tens of millions every year - to go play in some Clown Show Team League? You think the sponsors of most of these players want them playing in the CSTL - or on the tour with the big tv contracts? Again - you might get B level guys who dont mind giving up their tour cards but there's just no reason for the top...50 or 100 to do it.

Ah, the allure of the dollar. We will see but start up professional leagues don't have a very good track record when going against deep rooted, established organizations. It all comes down to the question of how many advertising dollars are ultimately available, particularly for TV. I have to guess that the non North American events will be more difficult to sell ad time on a regular basis given the time differential. Maybe the European/West Asia markets can support the Tour. Will players play in European tour events to stay sharp?

Somewhat reminiscent of the USFL in the 80's when they lured some big name NFL players to the new league.
