It cost $12.95 to watch (the equivalent to about $30 today) and was a complete bomb: The Los Angeles Times reported at the time that only 50,000 homes ponied up to watch it, short of the 65,000 needed to break even."

Good poll. I was wondering about who will pay to see this and how much. I would pay 10 bucks, not a penny more. I guess some people might get together with friends and split the cost. But I have no friends so that's not an option for me ; )

 

Now, if this was back pre-2009, I'd pay to see that.

I might pony up some cash if two conditions are met:

 

1. The players are putting up their own money, straight out of their wallet, not the money made by the event.

2. The winner donates much of their winnings to an IRS 501©3 charity with a squeaky clean record of very low overhead and the money used to help people. Not their foundation or other personal charity.

 

Other than that forget it, if they are not putting up their own money the pressure and excitement of the competition disappears. If they do not donate something somewhere completely out of their control, then why should I pay $$$ to help their tax liability or add to their pockets.

 

Ok, but, I dont think TW has a wallet since 1987 when he had one of those velcro ones and stiffed the Good Humor man for 5 cents on a Fun Dip purchase.

Sorry; you are incorrect again. Now if PPV had televised Hogan and Nelson vs. Ward and Venturi I would have been all over it.

Actually, if Phil played right handed and Tiger left handed, Phil would easily win "Phil is right handed". He has shown his right handed swing and it is very good.

I'm going to watch. Price doesn't really matter. I'll watch anything Tiger is in. That being said, I won't be surprised at all if it's not really interesting/exciting.

I'd pay to watch Tiger and Phil as a final group on a Sunday of a PGA tournament. I'd say of a major but the likelihood of ANY tournament is so rare that I'll settle for that.

I’d rather see them pick a couple of average joe type players, handcaped amateurs. . Offer up a $100,000 purse (or whatever amount works) and watch them play. A couple guys who would be hugely impacted by winning.

 

Oh, and for those who don’t believe it when people say they won’t watch..... why? Not everyone worships Tiger and everything he does.
