Best Golf Towel you have found?

Wow, going on the 4th page of discussions about towels, and sadly I read every one of them! Glad winter is almost over.

 

And for the record, my vote for the best is for free ones they give out in pool/fitness areas at hotels - I always make it a point to pick up a few each time I stay in one. And as the people who thought this thread was about "finding" towels on the course, BACK AWAY! I've seen on more one occasion (unfortunately) what one of my playing partners has done with those towels, and believe me, you don't want that towel! Also, if you find a Gold Toe sock that has a "3" in black Sharpie, it was his home made 3 wood cover that got sacrificed one day, so don't think to yourself "Wow, I just found a new 3 wood cover!" Also while BACKING AWAY, be careful where you step.

The Players Towel is a knockoff version of the Club Glove towel, but doesn't hold as much weight in water. I'd recommend Club Glove...

I guess I am in that "cheap" category also. I have probably 10 or so Club Glove towels. I have one now with my umbrella thru the hole. When it gets dirty, I get a clean one, throw the old one in the wash.

BUT...they never ever come off the umbrella. I bought 15 white hand towels on Ebay for $12 no shipping. I take 2 every time I go play. I keep a bucket of bleach, Oxiclean, and water in my garage. I just toss the dirty ones in there and when my supply starts getting low, I thrown them in the washer. If I lose a towel that cost less than a dollar...no big deal.

I have two that I like a lot, specifically for the weight and size of them... the first is the towels you see at a lot of beach resorts, they are white with a blue stripe down the middle. The second is the Gatorade towel that is commonly seen at athletic events. They are both very good in my opinion.

The best golf towel are smallish white face towels, like the ones you find at a gym. most golf towels are too big and don't have enough of a rough texture to wipe your grips. i wet half the towel with water and keep the other half dry. none of my dedicated golf towels see any action.

i actually had the opposite results. been using a players towel for around 6yrs since i discovered them - love it. previously had a club glove but it didn't hold as much water and got crusty once it dried up. have had about 4 players towels since.

I have their towel and it is so big it can work for cleaning clubs and your face. I like supporting these guys as well since I love what they create. The pic is off their site where they sell the towel.

Best towel I ever had was a made in USA Titleist tour towel that I unfortunately lost one day after many years of use. Never was able to find another as they are all made overseas now and not of the same quality.

I alternate between a basic gatorade towel and a stitch towel (Xmas gift from the family). I like the rough texture to clean the grooves of my clubs. I wet one side really well and use one side of that for the irons and the other side to clean my ball or woods. the other side to wipe my face and hands.

I'm not going to read 4 pages about golf towels to see if this was already mentioned, but Clothlete towels are great. Basically knockoffs of the Club Glove towels (maybe even slightly better) at a way cheaper price. Can get a 3-pack for ~$17 on Amazon Prime. Highly recommend.

I'm long done with using "golf" towels. I use the cheapest black or dark gray bath towels found at Walmart or Target. Usually something like $3 each. I like em big, but you can use the smaller hand towels if that's more your thing, of course.

 

These big towels hold as much water you'd ever care for for cleaning golf balls or clubs, plus they're nice enough to wipe your face into when it's really hot out.

 

I soak about a third to half of it in water. The lowest part for cleaning equipment, the higher wet part for hands/face and the dry side for, well, drying out.

I don't think I want to use the same towel I use for wiping clubs and balls to wipe my face! I carry 2 towels.....one for clubs and one for me

That's why I like it big. The different sections stay segregated enough for my needs.

At my old club, they'd provide a version of these cotton tea towels with the herringbone pattern and red stripe for golfers as they left the locker room for the course.

Wet, they work for cleaning balls and clubs. Dry, they work for drying grips, etc. Easy to slip one in your back pocket or through a belt loop.

 

They shrink a bit over time.

Frogger golf towel is the best in my opinion. Allows you to wet one side while the other side stays dry - great for cleaning your clubs and still being able to wipe off your hands and face. Works well in all environments even when raining (you turn it around the keep one side dry).

He likes the Nike jacquard in a number of the colors. Fastens in the middle so it doesn’t drag on the ground. Has an area of fabric for rougher type cleaning for you clean freaks.

My best golf towel that I carry to and from the greens is a 14"x9" from one of my kids' cross country meets that says Rumble Through the Jungle. With a little water it is amazing at cleaning dirt off my ball, so much so that I run every putt 2 feet by because it rolls so well.

 

I'll sell it to you, OP. Want to buy?

On a serious note, I picked up a Vice towel earlier this year and have liked it both because it is waffled (wipes grooves decently), decent size, and has a mean looking animal pic that scares my competition.
