am want Tour only model. You makee?

Classy dude. Making fun of people who "talk funny" never gets old. Of course, you'd never do it in person where they could hear you, but behind that keyboard, you're a big man.

Dude doesn't speak English, uses google translate, cut him some slack.

I told the guys that in the other thread he started about his putters. I had figured out that he was translating either by Google or on his own

I'm sure someone else that knows more can jump in... but I have looked into milling a putter with a drill press. From what I understand it is not recommended. Drill presses are made to withstand vertical pressure. Things can go tragically wrong if you apply too much lateral pressure.

Can someone else please verify?

They make small mills that are basically just drill presses. I worked for one of the OEMs out on tour quite a few years ago and we had one in our trailer but we used to primarily for sole grinds and shortening hosels.

You probably could make a primitive design putter on a small mill but it would take a long time and your design would be very limited.

Yeah, I've seen the mini mills. I'm sure that would work, albeit it very fundamental and time consuming.

I can't tell if his translator just changed it to "drill press" and he meant mini mill. If he is truly using a DRILL PRESS it could be dangerous. I went back and read a few threads from machining shops. The bearings on a drill press are not meant for radial loading and would need to be replaced to be safe.

Good Luck Opinder!

Beautiful things can come from the use of a few simple power tools.

Thank you.

It's very beautiful your putters.

Thanks for the compliment. BTW, everybody thought I was nuts too.

Yes, this is true. You COULD mill soft metals like aluminum and possibly brass. Steel is a no-no though. Things WILL go flying at high speed.

I have own a stand drilling press and sandpaper machine.

Opinder, I am sorry to say that you will end up destroying that drill press in your efforts to mill that block of 303 Stainless in your earlier post. I urge you to re-think things at this point and perhaps make the majority of the head from high grade aircraft aluminum with heel and toe weights from a much heavier metal such as copper tungsten. Just give it some thought and see what you come up with.

Wishing you success.

Exactly. Even with a mill you need some seriously good base to clamp.

This is going to be what the kids call an epic fail. Video and YouTube it.

This is what happens when you don't know you can't make a putter in your basement.

Yeah, that's tougher work. Maybe couple of months.. Relaxing and drink beer! : )

I can do make it my custom putter hobby.

Do you go with the six holes in the back to remind you of the six pack you need to drink to forget about this hobby? Maybe you should've gone with twelve.

After the first few posts, along with the joined date, I thought this was certainly a troll thread. Should be entertaining, please document every step.

To the OP - keep it up. I'm not sure what success you'll have, it's great to watch you make the attempt! Keep up the good work... and ignore the ones telling you that you can't. But listen to the ones that tell you the equipment will/won't work... that's just basic safety!

Slap a double bend shaft in one of those holes and you are all set ; )

How much does the putter currently weigh? What is your target weight?

What loft and lie are you aiming for? How do you expect to achieve the numbers?

Opinder, if this is a serious attempt at creating a flatstick please heed the warnings that have been posted by other members. I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.

If this is simply a ruse, well played. Would be one of the best troll threads I've ever seen.

A flatstick zero loft for good fast green and smooth. A putter has 3 - 4 loft hit ball skipping..rolls for slow green and rough, bump green is dull.

I'll use zero loft putter. My putter currently weight is 800 grams. I goal to head putter 600 grams and 34" or 33 length shaft.

Metal bar square Originally weight 900 grams. Wow heavy!
