P790- what shaft are you using?

I got fitted for Nippon Modus 105. Not really loving the feel. Maybe the lighter hears and the lighter shafts make them feel too light.

Nippon 950. Prior to that I was a long time Modus 120 user but I'm finding the higher spin 950 to be a great combo with the 790 and I play my irons +1" so the lighter shaft is not such an issue

... Recoil Prototype 95's. I like the lighter weight while still being heavy enough to maintain my tempo. Medium trajectory mid spin shaft that compliments the high launch low spin of my P790's.

I could not hit C-Tapr 130 shafts in my P790's in any flex and TB would probably hit the moon with my Recoil Prototype 95's. Yet both of us think these combo's are as good as it gets. Fun thread though.

... I could not agree more. The fact that they are so good in the hands of a younger guy with a ton of swing speed or a more mature player with average swing speed at 100mph with a driver, certainly says a ton about these amazing irons.

I agree 100%. I can't honestly see a player at say, 15 or under cap who wouldn't love the performance.

Have Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 in mine (playing over length) and couldn't be happier. Can hit them high or flight them down and with the reduced spin, they don't balloon like other irons I have had in the past.

Anyone else notice that due to the slightly longer hosels and the slightly shallower bore, that the ground to first step "net/net" makes these play a bit softer to flex?

C-TAPER 130x. Nice high ball flight but very low spin. Great in the wind and very long hitting. The ball stops from trajectory as opposed to spin on the greens.

Nippon Modus 105. Love them! Mizuno Optimizer got it right for me. Best irons TM has ever produced (for me).

KBS CTL 110S. I just recently got them, my first venture into a KBS shaft, first sub 115g shaft since about 2012, and first non-1pc. solid forged iron since 2008.

 

I also play the TM M5 irons in Modus 105S.
