2-PW set of S59 Tour irons with ZZ65’s with cushin inserts. I’d still be playing those if the grooves were legal in professional tournaments.

S55/56’s have been just as good to me, and I think they’re better than anything else available, but there was something magical about those S59 Tours.

716 T-MB. The first iron that I have ever hit that has a mild fade bias.

Don't buy equipment to fix your swing they said. It will never work they said...

Between getting a TS3 setup with full fade bias, and T-MBs, my game is as good as it was when I was in my mid 20s again... if not better.

Adams irons seem to be popping up in this thread a lot. Pro A12 have always been my favorite. Just picked up a brand new set of Tour satin finish. Haven't put them in play yet.

I have two sets. The first set was my first generation TM RAC LT irons. I loved those clubs and played them for three years whilst at university. I could flight them high or low, shape the ball nicely with them and they felt so soft.

Stupidly traded them in for my second set, some MP32s. Only played these for twelve months as, although I had no issues on the links courses I played nine months of the year at Uni, I couldn't hit them well on the soft wet parkland courses I played the other three months. They were gorgeous clubs, but I spent 9 months of the year playing to 5 and then 3 months playing to about 25 because I was just digging into the turf. My fault, not the clubs.

Founders Club 200 series from the early 1990's. Was playing my best golf then and went through two sets of these in about 8 years. Next set was Mizuno mp-33 which were great but IMO not the equal of the Founders blades. The sole of the Founders irons suited my swing a little better and I just felt confident with those irons at address. I found out later, through this site, that the Founders were forged by one of the well-respected Japanese companies, but that meant nothing to me at the time. They were just solid and fun to play shots with.

Callaway X-Proto blades with C Taper stiff shafts. Felt great, and played my best golf with them. I was playing three times a week back then though. Also a set of Bridgestone J33 combos with Satin Px shafts. Great feeling and plenty of forgiveness. Was really starting to like the p790's but they were stolen a few weeks ago.

My first set of blades: Founders Club 200 Series

my second set: Mizuno MP-14 - I literally wore the chrome off those - amazing irons - had 1-PW - I took the one iron out this year and it is still fantastic off the tee. Third set: Endo forged Saqra INB 1150 irons with Modus 130 - really enjoyed those irons - could do anything with those until 2 back surgeries and now I am playing Ping i500 which don't feel like any of the above BUT I hit a 4 iron into a green a few weeks ago and I literally giggled to myself - so there's that. Oh and I had a set of Ping i3+ Blades 3-PW w/x100's for many, many years great clubs super regret selling those. I'm really enjoying the i500's rn - I hit 15 greens 2 weeks ago - didn't miss a green on the back - that was fun!

My granddad bought me an old set of Eye2's when I first started playing. They all had mismatched shafts and were pretty beat up, but I played a lot of rounds with those (broke 80 for the first time with them). I still have the 3 iron head sitting on a shelf in my office. Great clubs and great memories.

Mizuno MX200. First decent of clubs I bought, lasted about 5 years in the bag. Broke 100, 90, and 80 for the first time with them. They survived lots of crappy courses, tree roots, hideous swings, rock hard balls, rainy days, and 100 degree heat. They're semi-retired now, hanging around in my garage waiting for someone who will love them enough for me to let them go.

My first set of Mizuno MP53's with DG S300's. Just butter, forgiving, and clean. Love the feel of the ball coming off especially off the short irons.

I'm 2 rounds in but my jpx900 tours are making a run against the mp33. Second round was with ctapers installed and...very good. Definitely a lot based on shafts but, front side I hit 6 greens, 2 greens were 2 feet off the green on the fringe less than 25 feet away, so basically hit 8 greens.

Back 9, driver went south which cost me a few greens. The holes I had a suitable approach, I hit it to 15 feet, 5 feet, and 20 feet...1 missed green on the back where I had a drive that didn't get me in trouble.

I have owned many brands and models. Been playing forged irons since 2006-07. But went to blades in 2011 with MB2's and was blown away how easy they were to play. Since then I have owned over a dozen MB2 sets. Multiple finishes, shafts and the weight "plugs". I have drifted away in the last 2 years after a set of JPX 900 Tours. But am close to getting back on that train. Choooo-Chooooooooooooo!!!

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.

Just looked at this thread for the first time in a month.

Went through all of the posts and I think it's hilarious that SO many guys who have their present(?) clubs in their signatures name a different set of irons as those that fit the description of "Irons that gave you the most enjoyment".

I guess maybe I'm not sure how one defines "enjoyment" but for ME, the ones in my bag RIGHT NOW are the ones I hit the most consistently and score the best with. THAT is what gives, and gave, ME the most "enjoyment".

Now if it IS a "nostalgia" kind of thing,,,,,,,,,,, disregarding your current irons, I apologize (the OP did say "gave"),,,,,,,,,,,,, then I guess my old black Lynx Parallax with graphite shafts circa 1994(?), would fill the bill.
