2019 Equipment Contract Changes

Recommended Posts

So, usually I’m not one to come on here a just spread hearsay, but thought this was pretty interesting and I’d share. But apparently the rumor is that Rickie Fowler and Cobra will be parting ways in 2019 and Rickie will sign with Srixon and play their clubs.

Again, this is something I’ve heard through a buddy of mine who’s pretty tight with his buddy who works for Cobra. Take it with a grain of salt for now. Will be interesting to see if this actually happens.

Very interesting. The new Z85 series irons are great looking. Still have to hit them though. I did hit the U85 3 and it might just be the best feeling driving iron I’ve ever hit

Not like Cobra is killing it in the market. I can't remember the last time I've seen Cobra anything in bags around the courses I play. I could very easily see Cobra leaving golf just like Nike did.

I dunno. Cobra has put out some real good stuff here recently and keeps innovating. Puma makes nice stuff too.

I cannot see him with an orange Srixon hat lol. Just picturing that is laughable. A flat brimmed Srixon hat. ROFL.

Srixon makes great equipment but Soft goods they’re way behind puma.

I don’t see Rickey doing it for money.

Rickie just signed a long term contract extension with Cobra in Jan/Feb of this year.

Unless Cobra is getting out of equipment, this isnt happening. A simple Google search would have saved you time of typing a thread to disprove your buddies buddy buddies buddy.

Got to love WRX rumors; Sounds like your buddies buddy buddies buddy is full of fluff. Everyone knows one, so...

Close the thread.

Letting Rickie go seems like suicide. I'm not a huge Bryson fan, but he already has the same amount of wins on Tour as Rickie.

Who will be a free agent at the end of the year? A few have been almost all year. Reed,Koepka, Na, Fleetwood,Varner, Lee to name a couple.

Na is sponsored by Titleist and Varner is sponsored by Srixon irons and Cleveland wedges. Reed, Fleedwood, and Koepka have no reason to sign equipment deals as Nike is paying them handsomely.

Na hasn’t been with Titleist since July.

If true, it could be a Srixon club deal with Puma apparel. Similar to the Nike deals.

Except Puma owns Cobra so that’s never happen. All puma players are also Cobra

Gary Woodland? Looks like he wears Puma and clearly plays a mixed bag.

SIM 9.0 w/ Ventus Black 7X
SIM TI 3 (actual 15.4; set one click lower) w/Tensei Pro White 80 TX tipped 1.5”

SIM UDI 2 w/Nippon GOST 112 TX
or SIM 5 (one click lower) w/Fuji Speeder 9.2 X

Artisan 51,55,60 (51 TI X100; 55,60 TI S400)

Gary has worn adidas and Nike as well this year. To my knowledge he’s not on a contract with Puma, at least not yet

Varner is not on their website. He may still play so the clubs, but does not carry the bag anymore.

There is a rumour floating around of Justin Rose moving to Honma

Might make sense with Mark King running Honma NA and they were rumored to be making a push onto Tour

I agree on the soft goods. They’re hats are terrible.

Srixon if you’re reading this, turn off ‘BOLD’ on your font editor.

A nice thin-line font on their balls and hats would look very classy.
