Anyone have any opinions/solutions on adding heavier weights ? Despite ordering my M5 1.5” short, the headweight still only came into 195g which means I have 10g of lead tape on the club to get the 205g headweight I need for the shorter length. Have seen M3 weights sort-of work, but looking for alternative solutions aside from hotmelt or lead tape.

Anyone play the M6 fairway wood with the M5 driver? Really like the look of the M6 and would buy the 14 deg model. Is it too high launch/spin because that's my only worry since I'll be using it from the tee 90 percent of the time. Also such an annoyance it's impossible to get a Tensei Pro Orange 80 x from any manufacturer. But would probably go with the hzrdus black 75 for no up charge and maybe wait to get fitted for a another shaft.

Hoping someone can give me a little help here. I was fit for the M5 driver about a month ago and asked the fitter to strictly keep me in no upcharge shafts. I was fit into the Tensei Orange Stiff to help keep my spin rate down as I was very high with my old M1 with the stock Kuro Kage shaft. Well... now I’m ready to order and willing to spend the extra cash on an upgraded shaft but don’t know which to consider.... and am not thrilled about paying for another fitting...

Swing speed is around 104-105, handicap is 9.7, spin rate was my biggest issue in my old gamer.

GD IZ 6S? Tensei Orange Pro? Anyone able to help my sanity???

Do you have to pay for a fitting if you are buying a retail priced driver with an upcharge shaft??

I would recommend the IZ, but you could also go with 6X to lower the spin..

Yes, not buying through the fitter so I unfortunately would...

You may have reasons not to do this but if you don’t mind going back to the fitter, I would suggest you pursue that as an option. If you paid for the fitting you are under no obligation to buy the shaft from him. Most quality fitters want you to have what is right and what you want.

From what I've read here the M3 weights work on the front-back track, but not on the heel-toe track. If you need the additional weight on the heel-toe track just stick with the tape until the M5 weights start to pop up online. I'd be shocked if those weren't available soon. Otherwise, M3 weights are inexpensive & readily available.

I think I'm stuck with ordering a 10g M3 weight and play w/ (3) weights until they come out with "real" M5 options. I play my driver at 44" so need to get the headweight up to 205g which is where I have my M2 currently. Stock heidweight came it at 195g with adapter.

Got to hit my M6 for the 1st time today, man this thing likes to launch high. Anyone else noticed this, that they have to go very low in loft?

My M6 launches about the same as my M4 with the same shaft and ball. Both heads are bang on 10.5° and weight 204.6g and 204.1g. As a low spin guy with an AOA of +4, I had to come up in loft to get spin around 2000 rpm so high launch is a byproduct of the higher loft.

Anyone know if the m4 weights for the M6? The SW is way low at 45" even with a 75g shaft

My local club builder said they don't match.. Anyone know what size weight is actually even used in the M6?

M4 had a 41gr weight in the back I have read from somewhere..

According to Golf A Lot M6 has a 46gr weight, but not sure is that the exact weight of the screw since the wording is a bit vague:

"TaylorMade has basically dropped the rear section of the head using what they call an ‘Inertia Generator’, which is a 46g weight that hangs off the bottom of the sole"

I'm in the same boat. 44.5 and I need 10grams. I have to believe the weights will come out in a month or so. I have some m3 weights I can try but I need to go all the way forward with the weight

Is anyone else noticing most pros seem to be having the weight back on the M5?

seems a move with the lower spin.

TMs own site says: "The aerodynamic, all-carbon sole creates discretionary weight to allow for 46 grams of mass to be placed low and back to increase MOI and lower CG. This Inertia Generator creates more forgiveness with higher launch and lower spin." I doubt that to mean just the weight itself but rather the entire "fin" section.

Or, all of you who are sweating whether your M5/M6 will have the right mix of goop could buy another driver like the F9 or G410 and cease the mental gymnastics.

I appreciate the humor and I really tried not to buy the m5 but the f9 was too spinny for me. And also, strikes high-middle (which normally gives me my bombers) were big dropoffs. The ballspeed was good but the spin was too much. The f9 is a really great driver though and should be high on the list for everyone to test

Probbaly because the head is very very low spin to start with. Weights at the front make it very unplayable. Even more so with a pros grooved swing.

Anyone switched to m5 after trying.m6? M6 feels muted too much

I'm only 1 round in with the M5 but I feel more comfortable with hitting the center of the clubface than the M6. I think the M5 feels more lively than the M6. I assumed the M6 would be the best fit since I've been playing the M2 2016.

Same. I preferred the M6 feel/sound. M5 felt dead but it was just due to the low spin balls falling out of the sky. I have 8G of tungsten weights on mine now to get it around D3/4, could barely hit it it before around D0
