So glad I switched over to Callaway. Screws on the face would just annoy me.

You must be new to the game of golf. Persimmon drivers all had screws on the face.

I had one that did NOT have screws....all pure Persimmon head.

Oh wow, great point. I change my opinion because they had screws in the face of drivers 30 years ago. I am no longer annoyed by red screws on a black titanium face.

There’s going to be 3 feelings towards the face screws; love, hate and indifference. If the clubs flat out perform the screws willl become less of an eye sore for most. First look, they don’t bother me. How a ball hit in the area of the screw comes off the face concerns me more than how it looks in a teaser video or picture.

This right here. I would imagine that they have tested that and taken it into account. I am really interested to hear what they did there. Thinking outside the box. I am a bit surprised that there is no rule that the club face has to be one solid piece of metal though.

If you hit a ball that close to the edge of the face, all you should be worried about is dropping your pants cause it probably didn't pass the ladies tees.

Maybe not! Maybe the tech on the other side of the screw puts me well down the fairway because “everybody gets faster”!

I'm not saying they copied Wilson so don't hunt me down and kill me...

I remember on DVD where one of the guys had the face horizontally braced and the GM kept saying "how do I sell this when it's on a shelf"

Again not saying this was a copy but it does make sense. I highly doubt the screw it's self will have an affect but it does get you talking which then leads to asking why it is there....

When I first saw the ad my first thought was:

Wilson - "On DVD we have removable crowns, internally movable weights, magnetic weights, weird head shapes..."

Taylormade - "Hold my beer."

I'm pretty excited to see what this is going to be. Horizontal jailbreak? Speed foam? Weights in the face?

Count me in as being on the edge of my seat.

And if you're banging drives off those screws, spend the money on a lesson, not a new driver.

screenshot of the club on Not allowed because of spam looks like there's a pinhole in the center of the face too?

That's nothing new. TM driver faces have had a small dot in the center of the face for a long time.

The pin hole is in the geometric center of the score line pattern, but it's not necessarily a projection of the CG location. I believe it's just decorative, but I could certainly be mistaken.

When they do CT testing on tour heads, one of the spots they test is in the center of the face. To do so, they find the point that represents the actual projection of the CG and mark that by making a dot with a paint marker. It's usually close to the pin hole, but not always right on it.

SpeedScrew would be a really really bad name

not as bad as SrewFace. Where did Twist face go?

I can't imagine them getting rid of TwistFace already. It'd look pretty bad on their part. Plus, I thought that when the line up came out last year they said that TwistFace was not on the woods because they didn't have the time to get it to work properly, but they were hoping to have it in future models. I hope I'm not getting that confused with Callaway not having Jailbreak in the Epic woods, but I think I saw that in an article early this year.
