I wonder if the heads are all manufactured too hot and then slowed down to barely legal by adding the resin/foam? If so, i like TM’s chances to market the heck out of that.

Wasnt looking to trash MGS in this thread but yes they are huge tools. Always hating TM, and then stroking (Johnny Wonder style stroking) Ping and Evnroll.

Yeah me either I guess I just thought it was kind of funny and relevant that they made such a passive aggressive post on social media. TM is known to stop sending in product to people who bite the hand that feeds... Guess they don't mind having to buy a bunch of heads for retail prices?

 

Place is a joke anyway. Should rename to hipster golf spy. Hell they get most of their ideas and news from connected folks here to boot.

I'm starting to dislike MGS more and more. While I like their data-centric focus toward reviewing gear, they make IG posts that say something along the lines of, "get screwed" with a photo of the new TM driver face, but then claim they are this super un-biased, non OEM loyal company.

 

Sometimes a web site just can't avoid making fun of the obvious. I don't hold that against MGS. I even wrote a comment alluding to Taylormade opening a clinic where you can have screws put in your shoulders... tighten for less shoulder turn, loosen for more shoulder turn. Don't take (golf) life too seriously.

Weight track on the M5 was interesting. M6 is what you’d expect without moveable weights. Not sure I like the new color scheme, will see if it grows on me. Haven’t hit either, just saw pictures.

Yeah, I would say if you still have 3+ year old product on the shelves, that's more of an inventory management/sales problem than a TM release problem.

Agree.... and if you still have M2s in the store, you have some bad salesman. The m2s are some of the best drivers TM has ever made.

I still find it funny that everyone still goes on about TM's release cycle, when Callaway has put out more new driver models since 2013....

Even if the OEM's each released 5 drivers a year, who cares. If you have one that performs well for you when a new model comes out, it doesn't suddenly render your club obsolete. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to shell out money for a new driver every time there is a release. As long as the clubs released are different enough to justify their existence, then the more options the better?

More carbon just means they can redistribute the weight savings to other more strategic areas. That doesn't necessarily mean the COG will be higher, in fact I would bet the opposite is true.

Definitely not digging the M5 aesthetics. The M6 isn't too bad. Looks nice and round. The M5 silver carbon looks terrible. But, at the end of the day, if it looks good from the top and performs, so be it.
