Can’t sleep! Too excited!

Any word out there on shaft options?

The embargo lifts tomorrow morning, so I wouldn't expect to see much info today.

Bunch of pictures up on Getty from practice rounds looks like Rory trying the new spider

https://www.gettyima...=newest#license

Looks like Rory going with the M5 460, he is clearly not GolfWRX good... :D

Funny to see a natural draw player like rory play the D-Type setting, like Tiger also used last season when he was driving it well. Tiger changed the setting for "the Match" and drove it like s***.

Maybe these guys should give the M6 D-Type a try also, since with that setting it's basically M5 D-Type.

Just going by where all the carbon is on the sole, it looks like the M5 is more fade biased than the M3. I'm guessing Rory was having trouble turning it over enough. I found the M3 to be more neutral weighted so maybe I will be looking at the M5 driver this year also.

Adding to this post....seems to me, the address position pics I've seen...the M5 shape is not as pleasing as M3....anybody? Has more Nike Covert Tour look...less symmetry to the shape....z785 minus the point....I'll hold judgment until I hold M5....

Hard to say with the pics out there. I think the tour might be more pear shaped given the footprint of the bottom

Is it true that one of the fwy's will cost $400?

I think that's close. It's the M5 because it's titanium.

While I am intrigued on the drivers, No way I'm paying 400 for a Fairway.

And IMO the 17 M1 & 18 M3 fairways are absolute monsters, I really don't see how they can improve on fairway performance.

Interesting discussions, but recent news has announced that PXG Gen 2 drivers are out of this world and to boot the Price decrease to retail of $575 in comparison to all other manufacturers this has definitely got my attention. I’ve always been a supporter of PXG, have their irons and wedges because I love the performance and feel, but could never wrap my head around the $1200 CAD price point of their drivers and their performance wasn’t anything to speak about. Things might be different this time around as if they perform as talking about, their going right in the bag, sorry TM

I'll echo that and raise you a '16 M2. I'm a golfer who actually likes the white and there isn't a performance increase for me with either the '17 or '18 models. I like the idea of titanium but if that's the case, wouldn't Exotic's woods be in everyone's bags? Not trying to slam or put down TM here. Just saying for $400 and more than likely no performance increase... it won't see my bag for a few years probably.

I also own a 16M2 DF and it is amazing as well.....I don't need some type of goofy track in a fairway. I just want a club I can low fade off the tee and that I can elevate off the deck and hit straight. Their previous generation fairways allow me to do both of those things with absolute ease while looking great to my eye.

Now as for the driver, IF they are maxed COR I'm all in on trying out the M5 & M6 drivers.

Looks are a 10. Let’s hope for the performance. I’m still not sure about investing additional dollars in a titanium fairway but if you can make it fade biased with an 80 gram shaft availabiliy then I’ll strongly consider it.

Let’s hope TM adds more than one 80g custom shaft option. The only one they offer right now is the Pro 2.0 TS 8

Driver: TaylorMade SIM MAX (10.5 degrees - set to 9.75 and 1.5 degrees open)

Shaft: Aldila Rogue 130 White 70 TX (at 45" and tipped 1")

Shaft: Aldila Rogue 130 Black 70 TX (at 43" and tipped 1")

Irons: TaylorMade P-7MC 4-PW (1 degree upright)

Shaft: Nippon Pro Modus3 Tour 120 X

Wedges: Cleveland RTX Zipcore Tour Rack (Raw) 52.10, 56.12 & 60.12

Rory was missing many tee shots to the right last year, be it swing or club related. That might be the reason for draw biased weighting of the new driver..
