Taylormade M5 & M6 Woods - Pics added page 46

Recommended Posts

While they will likely (hopefully) show up on the next USGA conforming driver list in February there currently are no LH M5/M6 drivers being shown on the USGA conforming list. The LH version of drivers have separate entries on the USGA list.

The list of conforming clubs is updated every Monday. Kapalua is a limited field event with no one on TM staff who would be playing a LH version of the new clubs, so I'm sure there was no urgency in getting LH models approved for this week.

Yes, M5 Tour will be 9* and 10*. The 460 will have lofts increments of .5

Manufacturer

TaylorMade-adidas Golf

Product Name

M5 460

Lofts

9,10.5

I guess we will see for sure tomorrow:)

Man. I was really hoping for an 8.5 in the M5. 9 is ok but I might need that extra bit of reduced loft. 2* sleeve, here I come. Hopefully.

Thanks for the correction. I know the club list is updated weekly. However my brain and post confused the ball list being updated monthly with the weekly club update.

"Inertia Generator" interesting name.

M5 fairway says "more streamlined loft sleeve". Does that mean it's different from m3? ?

Just watched the RS review - interesting sound, launches were quite high with low spin. But the smash factor is not great - 1.42-1.43 from the looks of it.

Seems that as another “infamous” YT reviewer (Crossfield) keeps saying, strike is king. Which I think most of us on here would accept as being largely true.

Ultimately, can’t wait to try it out sometime. There’s potential there, that’s for sure.

IMO the review felt a bit rushed, no comment on the shafts for example.. but I think this image speaks more than the video:

Not a huge leap in ball speed for Rick..

Just realized the M5 retails for $549. That explains the stock Golf Pride MCC grip. LOL.

Anyways, I wonder if it’ll be in Tigers bag soon or already is?

Probably interchangeable with the M1 and and M3, just shaved some grams off probably?

Well, I’m hoping they are interchangeable. It’s a good sleeve. I hope they don’t change it.

Just like the titleist loft sleeve.

Golfbox review was interesting. He hit one out of the toe and heel (not on purpose) and there was very little drop off in distance...very, very little

I think this is the point that keeps getting lost or just isn’t properly explained by the manufacturers....

Even with the M5/M6 being so close to the line.....centre strikes just won’t see much difference......the face being hotter on miss-hits is wheee the gains are to be seen!

Thing is though.....how do you say to someone and sell.....more distance on s**t strikes without sounding like. You’re calling everyone hackers!!!

This is what I’m principally interested in, what do the misses do.

Not that I would order the stock shafts anyways but the fact that the titanium stock doesn’t have an x flex option as stock???

Apparently Tiger was responsible for requesting that the twist face be “softened” a degree?
