I'm liking what I see here. Thanks. It'll be hard for me to switch from the current TP5X, but if the cover is a little more durable with the same performance, I'm all in.

One of the key notes they put on the flyer or pdf I saw earlier was a soft tough urethane compound for improvement along with paint to fix the durability of the cover.

Same amount of dimples from the original to new model. I like that better as the less dimples normally mean less dirt taken on a pitch Mark into the green (Nike rzn platinum tour with microdimples, anyone?).

These are already out there and in play locally. Haven’t seen the alignment aid but it’s supposed to be better

I know I am late to the party.. but almost out of Nike rzn platinum practice balls. Looking to switch to the TP5 series but not sure X or Regular.

Basic info:

Driver SS about 108 avg

Driver carry about 265-270

Typically low/mid spin and mid launch

I don’t need help with green side spin or for the ball to be too mushy. From all my research it “sounds” like I would prefer the X, but being a low spin player, would I be better with the regular?

If you're on the RZN Platinum and want same performance, I'd go regular TP5. RZN Black is more comparable to TP5X.

If you are a lower spin player, TP5x COULD help you for spin. I say could because it does matter a lot on your approach and compression which I don't know anything about.

Little note: I played and still play RZN tour platinum. When I don't, I use the services of the my TP5 and the switch is quite seamless.

Feedback much appreciated. I also opened a thread for more feedback.

Thanks!

I hope it's actually aligned!

Really hoping the new TP5x has a little bit more greenside bite. It was such a great ball in the long game but I had a lot of trouble with it for delicate shots around the green.

Was just talking to my pro the other day and the TM rep had the info on the new balls. Not sure if this has been covered here but they will have their own version of a truvis. It is going to be very limited at release because of how hard it is to produce. It is supposed to look similar to a digital camo print on the ball which make the ball have better visibility. They are comparing it to truvis and showing how much better it is for eye tracking. It must be going well in their presentations because the 1st run is already sold out and additional runs won't be available for a couple of months after the original release. Our pro couldn't get any on the first go around and he wants them. He is a Ping staffer with no allegiance to TM at all and thinks they will be a big hit. Who knows.

Durability was by far the biggest issue. Hope it's improved.

+1

This is my only complaint about the TP5x, they are way too easy to scuff.
