GolfNow Cancellation

Had a tee time booked with GolfNow. The day was pouring rain, so we canceled on the GolfNow website, which confirmed that the time was canceled.

 

Credit card was charged by GolfNow. Upon calling them, they said that the course was open and that they would not honor the cancellation. (Called the course - they weren't letting carts out & issuing rainchecks for players...)

 

How can GolfNow not honor a cancellation that was confirmed by their web site? I even emailed them a screenshot from their web site showing that the time was canceled.

 

I ended up contacting the credit card company, who erased the charge.

 

We'll never use GolfNow again..... Be warned!

You have to be careful when using Golf Now. Particularly if the time you bought was one the course was paying Golf Now with.

Could have been a course staff member passive-aggressively expressing his dislike for Golfnow and its customers by telling that to Golfnow so the customers is given a hard time...I wouldn't be surprised.

I briefly used them before getting tired of stuff like this happening every time I tried. Have better options now so I avoid them and avoid all the aggravation.

I have stopped using Golf Now as well for the most part. They got too greedy with their fees and courses in the Charlotte area have been dropping off. I can use Tee Off for free for the same courses.

Haven’t used Golfnow in forever. We get a First Tee book that has about 10 courses we can play twice for just cart fee. When we play about 3-4 courses it pays for itself.

I avoid golfnow like the plague. Had a similar situation as the OP happen.

 

I also showed up to a course and golfnow had double booked times and it was a trainwreck. They worked me in but said this thing happens a lot with golfnow.

Golf Now? I quit using that long ago, seems there are similar apps that work like GN used to, before NBC decided to monetize it as much as they have.

 

Have to watch those refund policies, sometimes a call to GN is better way, when I used their service.

If the course won’t allow carts or is issuing rain checks that should be enough for a cancellation.

I’d call the course and see if they will give you a rain check for that day. Couldn’t hurt to ask.

That stinks. I booked on golf now 2 weekends ago. The course was open but really wet and not letting carts out. So I called golf now, they called the course manager and he confirmed. Golf now refunded my creidt card without any problems.

Have booked 2 rounds in the last couple of months with GolfNow and BOTH times went to course, no record of my reservation. BOTH times guy at course says "we hate GolfNow, you should have booked through us"..... oh and your rate is higher than it should be to pay GolfNow..... I used to use them a couple of years ago for at least one round per month. Now with new ownership, seems to be crap. Very frustrating.

How do you contact golf now? Found an email address through Google because there doesn't seem to be one in their website. Customerservice@GolfChannel@golfchannel.com which bounces back. Lol
I called and they said because of covid-19, they are only doing online chat support, which I can't find.
You have to question a company that does not want you to find them.

I have never had an issue with GolfNow, but then again only once did I had to work with them for a refund and not an issue. I have probably used them 40 or 50X over the past 3 years. I generally call the course, but sometimes the Hot Deal on GN won't be matched at the course. Most of the time if the numbers are the same on GN as the Course website, I'll call the course directly and only use GN to lookout tee times.

Well the way this article sounds I will never use Golf Now. Lets see if Golf Now is listening to its customers issues, if not, they probably do not deserve or have the ability to ru the company.!!!

GolfNow stinks unless you know your definitely going and can maybe get a hot deal.

 

Other than that, you can get the same or better rates at the course, not have to pay the stupid fee, and never have to worry about cancelling issues.

O and the hot deals stink too if god forbid you have to cancel. I did get a 'credit' once from them however Its only good mon-thurs and on another hot deal. Wow thats great, its not like I have a full-time job or anything. Also the hot deals are usually last min things so I'd literally have to book it last min and skip out of work.

 

Needless to say the credits havent been used.

From my understanding the hot deals are essentially a free tee time given to golf now by the course (ie it is 100% of the fee goes to golf now vs them just being able to collect the service fee). thats why the policy is to pay on golf now for the whole fee and no refunds unless the course is closed. If im not mistaken a course has to give a certain minimum number of these to golf now to be able to be listed

 

i have found its mixed but there definitely are a lot of courses that have better rates even if by a few bucks if booked directly. However i look on golf now all the time just to get a feel for what times are open in the area and then check the actual website of the course or call direct to book.

I will not use them again, i booked for a group of 8 but upon arrival the course said we have to tee times in your name Golfnow took there money but we had to pay at the course also. Sad part was i had to pay, cause the guys all paid me. So i double paid, lucky my CC company stopped payment on it after i sent them copy of the invoice. They are crooks.

no need to use GolfNow anymore, all clubs I want to book at now have online reservation systems.

Never pay up with golf now, only secure the tee time with the $2 or so charge. Had too many issues with being charged when course was closed due to weather

what happens when the tee time is made for 4 but 3 players show up to play? does golfnow charge for the person that didn't show up?

Had a horrible experience with GN also yesterday. See I'm not the only one. I've been using them for years, but never will again. Teeoff was good, but, GN bought them, it seems, and now they're also lousy.
