Review from RS just out

looks like a winner compared to last years model can't deny SS and ball speed increases .

I disagree.

If he warmed up with the F9 and then generated the numbers (I assume this is actually what happened) and then he moved on to the F8+ on, like he said, same day, same session then you have got to assume he was fatigued which is where the loss in SS and BS are seen with the F8. Anyone else think the same?

Fatigued? No way. I practice twice a week and play twice week and I can EASILY hit 100+ drivers and not lose a single MPH. I don’t even get fully warmed up for at least 30-40 balls.

Hitting one club right after the other is the only good way of comparing them. I personally would have actually went 10 shots And switched perhaps 3 times to get the best results. 30 shots each over about an hour.

Wow great review for the F9. I had the same thought on the crown the white has the front portion matte, then a gloss back, should have done all matte. I will have to give these a look in person...

Is there anything on the cg out there for F9? As in compared to the LTD pro? Honestly it seems like they dropped that push for cg below the neutral axis...I was hoping they would be coming out with or continuing the line of the LTD, but they just come out with one-offs...

I was still gaming an R9 last year. Went in for a fitting and came out with a Rogue SZ. Unfortunately no one in the area fits for cobra. I doubt I'm going to gain anything by buying a new driver, but I really want to test out the F9 and the ST190. At the cheaper price points I don't know how they aren't at the top of lists to be tested.

Are they doing a tour length model at 44.5" with proper SW? Would be interested in that.

Yes, mine is 44.5' D4

Are the weights heavier than what has been shown as stock up to this point? Wonder how they adjusted the swing weight for their tour length setups.

Yes. Heavier weights. Just like they did with F8 Tour length.

You will be able to buy heavier weights from them as well if you wish to make your own changes.

Anyone have any thoughts on the fairway woods (or seen any detailed reviews)? I've always been intrigued by the bafflers and was looking to read more (as well as if there are any real changes from F8 to the F9).

No F9 here yet but I used F8 all of 2018. I gotta say... the rails are legit. They saved me SO many times from fat chunky shots where I swear I dug down to china with my leading edge, but instead the ball flew out as expected, albeit with less speed.

I 100% plan on getting the F9 Tour 3w once prices drop. I just can't justify buying any club new with the rate I ho.

How are you liking the LTD with your shaft combo? Did you cut it down yet?

So, I sort of watched the Rick Shiels review of this club. I say sort of because I am at work and didn't have audio as to not bring attention to myself and just looked for his numbers. Turned the volume up at the end. Sounds like he is very impressed with the driver. The numbers seem to align with the other new clubs he's reviewed. They all appear to be launching higher and spinning less netting more carry. The sound aspect has me most intrigued. I am already in for an Epic Flash SZ. But, after all of negativity related to the sound, I am worried that I will end up looking elsewhere sooner than later.

One thing that put me off on the F9 was the head shape. It seems to be flatter looking than a lot of offerings. But, it could be the milled face playing tricks on my eyes. Would any of you fine folks who already have the F9 be able to post comparison picks to some other drivers should you have any on hand?

Some pics in the wild from my first round with it!

Played a course Ive never played today so hard to judge distances but its was very solid, accurate and forgiving. Feel was awesome and sound was more muted than I would like. I do like a little crack but nothing loud or tin can-ish. I wasn't overwhelmed but also not underwhelmed either. True test will be Sunday at a course I am very familiar with.

I am very curious about the shape of this driver compared to others as well. From the review, the sound of the F9 sounded very solid!

From the pics I've seen, the shape seems to resemble the Rogue SZ in the fact that it's flat towards the toe. Personally, I don't care for that and strive to find something a little thicker in that area with a deep face. It's hard for me to verbally describe what I am envisioning in my head. I guess, I didn't care for the shape of the F8. I wonder if it's similar to that, or if it's a little deeper yet.

I hit the F9 in November (maybe early Dec) at a demo day and was not impressed. I didn't care for the look, the sound, or the feel one bit. Seemed muted and mushy to me.

Seeing Rick's video I was pretty shocked at his impressions, but to each his own.

Ping man here for last 8 years. Looks better than any Ping I've played since the G20 sounds and feels are totally subjective so I wouldn't listen to anyone's opinion on that topic. The F8+ performs every bit as good as any Ping driver I've played .If I pick up 3-4 mph ball speed or 2mph SS compared to F8 then ill purchase since I know how good the 8 series is now. I like the appearance but no more than the F8 which I view as very pleasing at address. My 2 cents . The Shiels review seems to confirm Cobra has made their best driver to date. Ill be testing in the Spring at a club demo day.
