Why I hate my pxg clubs

Danny Choo

Recommended Posts

For those that saved up and bought these on the hero program... you know ping and Taylormade give military discounts too, right?

Just admit it folks, you like the attention. Nothing wrong with that. Just own it.

Btw, I play a full set of tmb at $285 each. Sometimes I’ll get someone that notices the set and comment on them. Most people just think they are blades and make comments about me playing blades. ?. They get so amazed at how high I hit blades. ?‍♂️

This is really dumb.

How so? I don’t mind that people like my clubs. That’s not why I bought them though. I like them and that’s all that matter. If that’s dumb to you then I don’t know what to tell you.

Just admit it you like the attention and love to hate on PXG, your post are pathetic in PXG threads, move on and grow up.

I do love to hate on pxg. I don’t hide that.

Some folks get so ruffled. Can’t take a little mild humor and sarcasm. Relax folks... it’s just golf clubs. ??

It’s so fun to stir the pxg pot.

I’ll try my best as English is my second language. You said people that play PXG like attention, now you said people can’t take little mild humor and told people to relax. C’mon man what kind of p***y do that? Oh and relax it was just little mild humor.

1. Its not that odd for someone to ask what you do when you play golf with them for the first time, as Widespread Panic pointed out. I played Friday and Saturday with strangers paired up with my group. Both asked what I did. Probably because they were totally jelly over the j40 DPCs without ferrules I've gamed forever.

2. I'm in the fine dining industry. Sometimes people order in French, especially wine, for no reason. That's like playing PXG clubs. The result is the same, but its incredibly pretentious.

"Hey, can't I just order these super conspicuous, super controversial, super expensive irons and just be left alone?"

*looks around to see whose checking out my sticks*

"I mean seriously guys I just want to be left alone, that's why I bought these super hyped and obviously ostentatious irons without covers."

*looks around again to see if anyone is checking them out*

3. Parsons is a buffoon. Being in the military is commendable, but its not a lifetime pass to do whatever you want.

All those who own pxg equipment, majority can testify to what I am saying. This forum just adds jet fuel to the . If I was to walk onto a course tmw with a set of 30k Homna irons, know one will know. What people know is PXG and after reading majority of the posts, I see why. Parsons did not create this monster, the public did with the relentless hype

Yep the public does the silly voiceovers, produces ads and gives clubs to Tour players.

You've been gigged like a frog by the hype and seem to enjoy it, so go play and let this nonsense end.

I don't care what anybody plays.

I don't think it's so much the expense as it's like someone buying a $100,000 Steinway and playing Chop Sticks....or a very slow version of Mary Had a Little Lamb. The expense looks odd vs ability....but hey...if you've got the money...spend it. People buy all kinds of expensive stuff they really don't need.

However, I have to admit I do like the look of a club head that looks like it's been shot with a load of "double-odd screws".

If the whole thing is causing you so much distress, all I can suggest is to get rid of them and buy a box set from Costco and call it a day.

This is so true. I can't even count the times I have bought something I didn't need but simply wanted it. It is funny to read how some people love to tell others how to spend their hard earned cash.

Thankfully, for them, nobody has done it to me because if they did, they'll be getting a big f!@# off from me, lol...

Solution: just always get asked to pair up with the 5 star Honma gold real gold bling club guys. You can decide whether you enjoy their 150 yard drives more or those questions about your private life more. Or join an exclusive private club. Or just say you got them used. Or just put them on ebay lol.

PXG's in reality are not all that expensive if one buys them and keeps them for two years because...1) Spending $3k makes the wife say NO MORE, and 2) It's actually cheaper vs. buying 3 other sets over the same 2 years. There you go...cost savings! Thank me later you guys who are trying to justify the cost....but after all, it IS Christmas!.

This thread is full of haters. Bunch of mid-handicaps claiming PXG's are garbage. It's laughable.

I don't play PXG. I've never owned PXG. I know a couple of really good guys who do play PXG, and I've seen both of them get lots of questions about how much they cost, etc. Not "how rich are you", but I played a weekend tournament with one of them, and everybody we played with said "if you don't mind me asking, how much did those cost?" It's not polite. What other things in life cause this? Hey man, nice car, how much did it cost? Nobody with etiquette does that. And most made a crack about it. It can get pretty old, I'm sure.

A good buddy of mine has a standard reply to the "how much did that cost" question. "More than a pack of gum". I think the quote may have originated from David Letterman, not sure. It usually leaves them quiet and with a strange look on their face.

I used to dabble in expensive boats. One thing I've learned... people that spend that kind of money on hobbies, usually don't mind telling you how much it cost. Its a status symbol... getting asked how much it costs goes with the territory.

To all you guys wanting to "claim" to be Gyno's, just remember for every "10" there are 2-3 stanky "2"s who need you to "professionally" get up in there and ...(I had a lot more typed out about what you might actually be asked to do, like going in after class rings, etc... but don't need another warning for being inappropriate, so we'll leave it at that.)

I'm totally amazed this hasn't been locked down about 4 pages ago! I am a gear nerd, so would know you are playing with some high $ sticks, but wouldn't ever mention it unless you are part of my regular group of guys (at which point you would get ragged on incessantly by the entire group).
