I hit the 785’s and 585’s at a demo day. The 585 just flat out performed and was what I needed up going with. With that being said, the 785’s weren’t that hard to hit for a players iron, I found them more forgiving than the i500’s that I was playing before. Amazing feel, really good forgiveness for a players iron and distance was good too, not 585 long but not short by any means.

As my sig shows, I have the 6-AW in 785's.

Β

Man, you see the AW. It is probably the nicest looking, best feeling set wedge ever made.

Srixon did a great job on this, it is a pure muscle back that streams so well out of the PW.

Check it out!

PS, I don't have Pics. (yet)

Nice irons..... Is that a black marker line though on the bottom of the 7 iron in the photo??

Β

No, shadow and line separating the sole. The sole is half chrome and half brushed. Line right down the middle of the v sole. Looks sharp in person.

A little behind, but with grass finally starting to show in Utah, I've been able to play another round with my 785's after having them sit for the winter. The softer feel is still very apparent, in cold weather that was a nice reminder. Also, I'd like to know what kind of wedge loft blends people are using with this set? A few have mentioned that they are playing the set gap wedge, but what else are you using? I go 50/54/58.

Am lucky srixon is right down the street from me....well cpl miles in huntington beach....great stuff although z blades arent as nice as previous ones imo

Β

I use 4-pw and my usual wedge set 51,55,59

Β

I dont find players CB's are all that different in distance and trajectory....at least not for me, Srixons are touch longer but nothing crazy

Β

I don't have them but tested them side by side a ton. I ended up staying Apex Pro's ('16 to '19) but will admit they are great and it was a tough choice to not switch over. I hit the 765 Vs 785 models side by side in same shaft for hours one day on the range in testing. IMHO its a coin toss....

Β

A head pro I play with and sponsored by Srixon (how I got to hit both side by side) feels there is a bit of improvement but not sure enough improvement to change over if he had to "pay" for them. Granted he is scratch and hits its pretty flush every time with almost any club. I would say if you want the newest than sure but otherwise probably not going to see much difference.

How do the 785s compare to 718 AP2 in terms of looks? Thinner or thicker topline? Short or longer heel to toe? Etc?

Β

to be honest i think the entire head is smaller than the Ap2 -- topline, sole width and heel/toe. just a smaller profile to my eyes.

Β

The topline is noticeably boxier on the 785 vs the 718 AP2 IMO. I would say they are close in blade length as well.

Β

How are yours playing bent weak? I was a bit worried about the v sole/overall bounce getting weird. I prefer 34-35 degrees in my 7 iron and the 785 seem low spin on youtube testing so if I ever try a set I'd probably bend them weak.
