TS3 owners (weights)

Just cut 0.5inch off the TS3 so it'll play at 45". I was told that i now need +2 gram weight to bring the sw back up. I tried looking on ebay, but most of the them are for 917 which i believe is compatible but the weights are something like 8g - 16grams.

 

Does anyone know which one i should be getting ?

 

Btw, what is the TS3 stock swing weight ?

For what it’s worth, I play a 45” 8.5 ts3 in the stock smoke 6.0, it has the +2 weight in it and plays exactly at D2

Im assuming you ordered it -0.5"., did Titleist took it upon themselves and gave you the +2 weight to make up for the sw ? Or did you specify ?

Highly recommended not to use 917 weight in ts3 products but it does fit I used one in my driver for a few rounds waiting for a heavier weight. To the op yes If custom ordered from Titleist they will take it upon themselves to fix weight unless specified directly which weight you want.

When I was testing them at Pga Store the fitter told me they have are selling it in 45 and 45.5 inch lengths without ordering them custom. One for accuracy and the other for distance obviously so they could keep up with the other brands since the 917 was so far behind.

where did you order the weight ? im assuming any authorized dealer? or did you order direct from Titleist?

its a weighted metal stick, i dont care if its a knockoff.. esp when Titleist wants 30bux for it; after already paying 500 for the driver.

The TS standard driver weight is 12g, so depends on what you want your SW to be. One shaft I have for mine plays 45, so I had 6 grams of hotmelt added, and it brought it to D4, where I like it.

Do 917 fairway weights work in the TS fairways? I'm seeing people saying the DO NOT fit and others saying they do. If they do fit are they a proper fir where they wont be rattling around??

Shooting for swingweight is not the way to go IMHO. I've played drivers between 44" and 45.5" the past few years. The 44" played around D0 (was a 75 gram shaft with a bit of counterweight). The 45.5" was a G400 LST (very heavy head) that was close to D6.5 (this also had a slightly counterbalanced shaft). I liked em both. Club balance is an extremely important factor that SW doesn't come close to accounting for. So just my two cents, but see how you like the 45" club without shooting for an arbitrary goal like D3.

Yes the 917 weights absolutely do work. I have a 14 gram 917 in my TS3. Stock TS3 is 12 grams.

I play mine at 44" and picked up the +6 per the Titleist surfeit cg chart. I don't have a swing weight scale but it feels pretty much the same as my 915d3, which was at D2.. may not be exact but close enough for my inconsitent 6.3hcp swing..

I just ordered a TS3 driver with the HZRDUS Smoke Black 70. I was told by Titleist that the stock SW with that shaft is D6. At 44.5” with the +6 weight, it will be built to D4.

Spot on. My TS3 standard weight came in at 11.1g. The +2 right on the nose at 13g.

I did the same thing, and I completely agree that they fit better than the OEM Titleist weights in my TS3. Save your money and buy the 917/TS3 weights thats are all over ebay. I bought the +2g, +4g, and +6g ebay weights for less than the price of one OEM Titleist weight.

Another question here. What happens if you go negative with your weight. Say you play it at 45, -4 weight with a little lead tape more towards the front. Would that "shift" some of the weight to the front of the club? Faster swing speeds? Easier to turn the head over?

My TS3 with Evenflow S flex came with a C9 swingweight, not sure how to fix it, I know i can buy weights but not sure.
