Fake Mcc Plus4s?

So I was getting ready to finish my iron build by putting on the grips and I got one on and it looked funny. I pulled it off immediately and compared it to one I know was authentic and it looks off. I got these pulls along with some shafts I bought off a wtb thread I started. So curious to see others opinion on if these are fakes. Authentic is on left in pictures you cannot see the end wrapper.

Not sure about these but there are tons of Counterfeit GP grips on eBay..... I had a buddy bring me his clubs to

grip and had a set and I told him they were counterfeit and he insisted I put them on. He still plays them but

they look like crap and it would kick my OCD into overdrive.

looks real to me...the butt caps may have been stretched when pulled off thus giving it a different look on the "Golf Pride" print. did you weigh them? should be within a certain number of grams. i remember the fake ndmc's i got were all too light.

You might be right on the stretched. Weighed them and they are pretty close to the real one. There was several that the cord was only attached on one end, shaggy like. None of my others have done that and my current ones had gone two seasons and didn't do that.

Pretty sure they are fake. I had the same ones. Didn't realize they were fake, but they wore pretty quickly. Went to take them off and the fake ones were brutal to cut off. Real ones were fine to get off.

 

They were fine enough as grips. Lasted 150 or so rounds

They look fake, but a smell test should help you decide as well. The fake MCC's have much more of a harsh chemical smell, while real MCC's smell more like rubber.

They look fake to me. The cord looks cheap and since you mentioned they were a bit shaggy that is a telltale sign. The real ones have the cord embedded in a more uniform fashion. As DigitalizedOrange said, smell is a great way to check. If it smells strongly of cheap rubber then you’ve got some fakes. Usually the grips are super inconsistent on the bottom plus four portion of the grip.

No real smell but since they were originally on a set of clubs and pulled that might be hard to tell. Here is a pic of what a was meaning by the cord being shaggy. These are just two of the ones I received.

based on your updated pics i'm starting to now lean more on the fake side. I've pulled plenty of +4's with a tool and solvent and the cord part doesn't nearly as puff out like the ones you got. also it could be just the camera enhancing the edges but the black pattern part seems to be etched deeper, another counterfeit sign.
