Question - Did you guys enjoy the MeandMyGolf "Behind-the-Scenes" vlog at our photoshoot in Florida? The easter egg in the video aside, would you like to see more of this?

And on a side note, if we like a post in these forums, it generally means it's correct information. :good:

“Generally” = most cases

Thought the same..... so you’re also liking posts with incorrect info ? Maybe to throw people off the scent ?

This is funny. The mystery of why we have no TW branded irons after a year of being a staff player continues to torment so many people.

Stay on the case Blade!! Keep badgering them!! LOLOLOL!! ; )

TM will probably wait to see what makes the bag for a while before releasing anything. They were late to the party with the Ardmore TW version then and now he switched out of it. Probably do no€™t want to release anything until it i€™s solid. Either way they look great. It i€™s cool to see this version of TW that is tinkering like the rest of us.

And those Protos do no€™t look milled at the bottom. It looks like a reflection. If TW is picky enough to be able to tell that there is writing in the bottom of his putter I am sure he would say the same about milling on irons lol. Yes TW said he can sense writing on the sole of his putter. Crazy right? But it i€™s TW.

Pause the video at 9:38 and look at the 6-iron. The sole has the same milled grind look as the MG wedges. It's not a reflection.

May 2003

Deutsche Bank SAP Open, Gut Laden GC, Hamburg, Germany

Played it one tournament and then it wasn't long after that he came out publicly stated hat he knew for a fact that there were illegal drivers on tour. Wonder how he KNEW that so quickly after playing that driver once?

If Taylormade will do a fully milled set of P730 irons for Rose and McIlroy, I don't see why they won't Tiger's irons would be any different. From what I understand, hand grinding the sole is such a tedious process, one misstep and the iron head is garbage. Milling the sole of an iron can be replicated time after time to exacting standards. With TW's attention to detail, milling the soles of his irons probably yields the best results.

If you have the right person doing it grinding is more repeatable. For most people milling them is more accurate

While I personally have zero interest in a Tiger Woods model blade, or any blade for that matter, I do think it's bordering on criminally moronic to be paying arguably the greatest player in history a huge sum of money to be part of your staff program and NOT offer a line of irons with his name on them. I wonder if Tiger won't allow it?

Agree with what you're saying, but splitting hairs...remember Tiger doesn't even own his own name anymore, Nike does. That's why he has TGR, Woods Jupiter, etc that are all his, but none bear the name "Tiger Woods".

Interesting thought, but not true. That's actually something of an Urban Legend. Tiger Woods absolutely owns his name and can do anything he wants with it.

If Tiger wanted to, he could certainly ALLOW TM to use his name to market a set of irons. He obviously would get a large chunk of money to allow that. I'm guessing It would almost surely be in addition to whatever his existing agreement is to be on their staff. Maybe he and TM can't reach an agreement.

Okay let me explain some things related to the topic of who owns what. What you have spelled out is missing a point here. From what Inderstand Nike owns "Tiger Woods" brand in relation Golf. But it may not necessarily to other things. Trademarks can be made in certain classifications. Now While I am sure he has the right to use his name in regards to endorsing products, branding is another issue. Nike does not want to compete with another brand with his same name because it could endanger their brand. Gallo Winery has a world wide trademark to the point that E & J Gallo would not allow their younger brother Joseph to use his name on his cheese business and they sued him and won in the courts. They have quality control and inspection over Gallo Salami which is not owned by the Winery family and there is more. I, myself, cannot use my name as a brand because another corporation bought my original company. I still can use my name in other ways other than a brand. I do own trademarks on other variations of it. So there are reasons for TGR and Woods Jupiter.

If Nike owns the name Tiger Woods with respect to golf products, it's possible they could negotiate a licensing agreement with TM that would allow TM to market Tiger Woods golf clubs in return for a royalty fee. Since Nike no longer makes golf clubs I could see that happening. I'm not saying they would, but legally they could do so.

Yes this is possible but highly unlikely with these two companies. There isn't enough money in the hard goods (clubs) to entice Nike to see worthwhile to "compete or confuse" anyone with their lucrative soft goods business under the Tiger Woods label. Not even close. Nike is not into sharing (ie. Michael Jordan). Trust me. Plus TM doesn't need to use his full name to sell clubs at the cost it would demand if there was a cost. Forget it. P7TW is brilliant and it fits into their P-iron line (P730, P760, P790)

Complete and utter speculation with no facts here BUT I wonder if TM is taking a different approach. If they wish to use tiger name for advertising purposes on an iron that is "his" I imagine the royalties to be huge. Tigers name is worth so much money. I can't see TM making a return on that investment so from a business sense (as I do feel they seem to be turning things around and well) it would not be worth it. The price they would need to pay tiger would exceed there return hense not a good option. BUT selling an iron that was made for tiger with his input without his name is on them will sell the same volume as we all know the background without the royalties on top?

Anything other than Snopes and I'd be all for it, but to say their information is skewed is a drastic understatement. I think MCoz summed it up nicely though in which he can probably use his name on some things but not others. Maybe it's 'Woods Jupiter' because he plans on opening some more once his playing days are done?

Looking at the close up of the ones in tigers bag they resemble the vr pro the most so I think those and these fleetwood are testing are on the money. I wished I never switched from the pros.
