New, Old Stock Purchases

Hey All!

 

First post here! Been out of the loop for quite some time and due do some recent life changes, getting back into the game. First brand new bag in over 12 years!!! Spent the past few months piecing this bag together and very happy with the end result. Everything was purchased brand new, in plastic (and authentic) over these past 2 months.

 

Taylormade R510 TP 8.5 w/Speeder 757 - in plastic, $100

Taylormade 2009 Rescue TP Tour Issue w/RIP 85 - in plastic, $115

Mizuno MP 57, 3-pw w/s300 - in plastic, $330

Cleveland Tour Action 588 Satins, 52 & 58 - $100

Rossa Sport Daytona 1 - brand new, $75

 

Thought this might spark some interest, so let's hear what some of your new, old stock finds are! I'll kick it off....

All were finds on EBay the past few months....and a lot of patience waiting for the right finds!

I think it's possible (obviously, he did it) but you have to be on top of your eBay saved searches and refresh them several times a day (an hour?). For the most part, these are the types of listings that will be gone quickly unless they are auction style but it sounds like the OP was able to get these on a buy it now.

 

OP -- what was your eBay strategy? I assume saved searches and obsessively checking numerous times a day?

I have found a lot of great purchases on eBay, The key is patience and time. Being retired it is much easier.

Just daily searches throughout the day when time allowed. To be honest, the R510 TP and MP-57's were found on initial searches. The R510 TP was BIN and I submitted a best offer of $100, buyer accepted, and paid immediately. The MP 57's were auction format. Some things are just meant to be!

I've always had a soft spot for this club....one of those unicorns bought and sold over the years. But, the club ho in me does see this getting replaced with an M3 sometime in the future

Beauty set up, I've never seen one of those drivers brand new like that and I gamed a r580 for many many years. The irons though, I gotta start looking haha I would have scooped those up in a heartbeat at that price.

 

I just got myself a new hybrid last month that was a new old stock g30 22*, loving it so far, straight 200 yd par 5 layups, 180-220 long approach par 4 shots, and great on the tee for longer par 3s where I struggle to hit long irons.

 

Everything in my bag has been found either lightly used or clearance/NOS at great prices.

Found this on the Bay as well. Still one of my favorite wedge designs ever. Got one for my birthday in my teens...still have that one...now this shiny un-hit still with a fresh Griptec channel wrap (mine was Yonex branded) is mine!

Wow, very cool! I picked up a MP25 BNIP 3i to finish off my 4-P set, with matching PX 5.5 shaft for $49.99. I thought that was good but you have some real nice finds there!! Well done.

I must say my MP57’s above, are my first ever set of Mizunos. I dabbled over the years with the original rac LT’s and those RAC CB’s often disputed to be Miura forged. By far, my MP 57’s are the most beautiful set of irons I’ve ever owned!

A little off topic, as it is a garment not a club, but I bought a Mizuno Windlite vest from my local golf shop a few years back. I went back in and asked about the full sleeve sweater and they said it was out of stock and was not going to be produced again. So, I went to eBay and found one with a little hole in it for $25 shipped. That was last fall, so I've had it over a year now and wear it nearly every round all winter. Today I decided to throw Mizuno Windlite into eBay to see what would pop up and low and behold there was a blue one in the same size for $39 shipped. The thing that kind of threw me off was that there was a "best offer" button. I've gotten all kinds of deals on eBay using that "best offer" button but it was always something I didn't care if I won. Stuff, like new old stock lefty wedges where you knew you could get another one easily. I couldn't bring myself to low ball the guy meanwhile thinking it could be my last shot at one of these sweaters. Ridiculous I know, but it was advertised new without tags.
