Big fan of the Lamkin Crosslines. I used to the standard GP tour velvet, but noticed they would get really slick within 6 mo of use (yes I know that means I should regrip more often), but I noticed the crosslines last much longer!

Another vote for Best Grips microperf. I resisted leather grips for years despite a friends recommendation. I couldn’t try them with his club as he is a lefty.

 

Finally decided to give them a try. This was 5 years ago. Still have the same grips on my clubs and they seem to get better with age. They have less taper than regular grips. Like three layers of tape on the lower half so be certain you like that feel. Incredible in high humidity and wet conditions. Can maintain a light grip with no slippage when everyone else is losing their club. Maintenance is simply a wet towel wipe down a few times per year.

 

Downsides.

1. Initial cost

2. In cold weather, grip can feel hard. Still grippy but hard. Think New England in April, 40-50* but you just have to get out there!

3. Rubber cap on the top of the grip can wear through on the edges. Doesn’t affect the grip but looks a bit tatty. Has only happened on a couple of grips.

 

This right here is the best description of these grips. Right it’s low 40 in south eastern N.C. it they are firm but I love these grips!

I have both in midsize. IMHO the +4 has gotten slick compared to the MCC. It is the grey +4 vs. blackout mcc.

Put Golf Pride NDMC +4s on for this season after a couple range session and one Sim sesh im hooked. If anything any grips i use in the future if i happen to switch for any reason will have extra wraps under the hands. I love choking down on the club for tweener yardages and having the extra size at the bottom feels so much more comfortable.

Do u guys find the thicker lower part of the grip is too large in the MCC align if going midsize? It will be my first time switching to midsize- never felt these and wondering if it’s too exaggerated on the bottom. If it is prob safer to go another direction.

I played PURE pros for the last 2-3 years and just switched out to leather Gripmasters in the fall. I am elated with the leather and look forward to getting several years out of a set. I was religious about new grips every year (the PUREs really didn't need to be changed annually even though I did, as they were the most durable rubber grip I have ever played and I play 100+ rounds a year) but now am looking forward to having a beautifully broken in set of grips that will get better with age!!!! In the long run if I get 3 years out of the leather along with the cost savings of no longer needing to use a glove then the Gripmasters will actually save me money...never saw that one coming :)

 

which Gripmaster are you using? I have the classic wraps on one set, and am considering "The Roo" for a different set

I recently switched from the Lamkin UTx mid to the Crossline mid for all clubs except driver and putter. Driver I use the MCC Plus 4 mid, and putter I use the Winn Dritac X Jumbo Lite.

Just changed from Lamkin crosslines to golf pride tour velvets. Both are seem to be equal. Still have my Lamkin Grey REL's on my fairway woods and driver. Eventually I'm going to have to change.

Golf Pride Victory reproductions on iron set 1 and super-cheap Adams Grips from Hurricane Golf on iron set 2. The rest of my bag is a rag-tag fugitive fleet of tour velvets, Lamkin crosslines, REL ace’s, and stock grips from various OEM’s.

For wrap style grips, Star Grip Smoothee. I like them a lot better than the Pure grips I have tried. They also have a 3-year warranty against getting hard or slick. Don't know of anyone else offering that, but in my experience you won't need it. Most durable rubber grip on the market in my experience.

 

For something more in the velvet style, I like the Royal XV carried by The Golfworks.

 

For folks who don't want to spend a fortune on new grips, I use the Karma products from Hireko. Both velvet and wrap products are available for $1.89 each, and both are very good. I use a lot of them.
