I went into my local American Golf (UK) and the guy there hadn't even heard of them. Looks like ill just have to buy some blind off the internet.

Was hoping to try them on their GC2 against my e6 balls see what the launch and spin characteristics were like

  • 2 weeks later...

only places i've seen them advertised were for pre-order only.

Called Golf Galaxy. The balls are in the building! They tried to scan them for sale and it won't let them do that until the 8th.

Called my local golf course and the person who answered the phone never even heard of these Magna balls. We are much more educated here than most retailers or golf course shop workers. Kind of crazy.

This is the primary reason I signed on. Plenty of insight and solid reasoning, mostly. Will be interesting to see about this ball. If it's proven helpful, it will sell.

+1 Dropped by Golf Galaxy to hear some of the sales people's feedback. They can't sell it. But, the guys had some demo balls they hit in the store. All they can say was, "it's interesting and you should try it". Not sure if that was a good or bad interesting, lol.

Putted and chipped with them in the store. They are REALLY soft, maybe softer than a Softfli. I guess to keep the weight right they needed to get the weight down? Anyway, they are basically, a slightly larger and lighter version of the SuperSoft. I'd say anyone who likes the SS and is a higher capper, this is made for you. I prefer a mid compression ball and in yellow. Will hold off for a while unless I can find a place who sells sleeves.

It will be available in Yellow but will remain a soft compression model.

I noticed on TGW site that a lot of the Cally balls. Superhot Magna, Supersoft Matte all say expected to ship 2/21.

Wonder if they just had some slight delays with the colored balls.

Yeah, perhaps there was a delay on the yellow balls. They are on line. But, not sold retail yet.

Also, it is SuperSoft Magna. They should have given it it's own name. just Callaway Magna would have been fine.

Just called Callaway and the rep said they should be out to retail. hmm.

Will be playing a full round with these later. Initial thoughts is that the yellow version is bright and really stands out. It performed as expected in a par 3 round last week (high launching, low to mid spin, could putt it with the flag in). Not hit it with a driver or wood yet.

Any one else got feedback?
