So @sshadow2 curious if you tried the AW in the set. I played a round on sunday and found the 50* Vokey just wasnt hitting that 120 mark like I wanted it to so I custom ordered the AW in the set to my specs to fill the gap.

Do you have the regular Apex or Pro?

The AW in the Apex 19s as you know is 48* stock so you should get up to 8 yards more from it that from loft alone. But no, I've never hit the Apex 19 AW. I use a 50* in my CBX and I hit it alot further than I could with forged wedges. Coincidentally, its my 118yd club. (50* forged was my 103 yd club). In my opinion, the feel and distance of the CBXs (with the KBS shafts), compliment my irons so much, I never considered the AW.

That is pretty interesting. I’ve always felt my SM7 52 should go further and the CBX is one I’ve always been curious about. Do you find the CBX spins similar to a forged wedge but a little more forgiving?

I don't have exact numbers, only what I see in the launch bay or on the green. I didn't feel that they stopped as well as I liked when I had the stock DG 115s in them. I had some old TM xFT wedges with KBS HI-REV 1.0 shafts in them and swapped. Now they feel softer and stop better (higher flight mostly). I've never been a high spin player, but with the KBS shafts in, I stop them as well as any forged I've used.

I full swing all my wedges including my one forged 59*. The CBX feel easier to hit, especially out of rough, but I can't really comment on forgiveness unless unless you mean "does the sweet spot feel bigger" -- then yes. The feel, overall, also took a little getting used to.

Ya I should’ve known with the Vokey it wasn’t going to go as far but luckily I have an extra spot in the bag so I’m going to add the AW to fit in between the Apex PW and the Vokey 50*

So these are my first forged iron purchase so maybe you guys can educate me. Do you do anything in particular to keep the clubs in good condition due to them being so soft? Is there anything I need to do pre round or posy round to them to get the most longevity out of them compared to cast?

^yep that’s bag chatter. Your choices are basically to try to be more gentle with your clubs, just live with it, or use iron covers (just kidding...please don’t do that).

It’s normal and I wouldn’t sweat it.

Why I always have covers on my forged irons, clearly a WRX disqualifier, as most here would rather have their clubs look like bounced down a gravel road. Only what, 1400 a set, why not they're yours.

So...does this mean the answer is yes? This is normal for forged irons?

Cool thank you, figured it was. And don’t worry about iron covers...?

Normal bag chatter, they are soft forged irons and will dent easily. I play the 5,6 Apex pros and rest MBs and I use headcovers. You could sell my irons almost in new condition because of the covers. Don’t understand why people would let their irons get banged up like that but hey it’s their money. I’m a little OCD though

Irons go through the ground at 90mph and hit a plastic ball and go though the ground hitting dirt, small rocks and such.. they are tools not jewelry

Yup, bag chatter, you can wrap a towel around the iron heads to slow down chatter, or get iron head covers, Frowned on, but they work. Personally, its up to you, head covers need to

used when forged irons are new to reap the benefits

Get raw ones. My raw apex mb snare great. Don’t show chatter At all and wear in great

Except for fact that only soles hit the ground, or should, unless you play your clubs backwards.
