Started playing about 37 years ago (1968).

1972 - hcp 19

1975 - hcp 13

1978 - hcp 10

1983 - hcp 5

1984 - car wreck - no golf for 1 year

1985 - hcp 13

1989 - hcp 9

since 1989 my hcp has bounced between 8 to 10 for the most part

Current hcp 8 (7.5 index)

Started playing early this summer at a 20something who knows handicap...

 

Currently around a 10 or 12 and on my way down once I get a few more things worked out. I think 20+ to scratch in one year would be nice :tongue:

When I first started I was shooting around the low 100's and now 6 years later I am +1.5 handicap and shoot under par on a consistant basis.

1990 - 29

1992 - 15

1994 - 9

1995 - 6 and first daughter born :ok: - personal best round (74) and 3rd in Club C'ships from the backtees.

1998 - 8

1999 - 9 and second daughter born ;) , less time for golf..... :tongue:

2005 - 7 and up to 8 again :cheesy:

 

Current hcp is EGA 8.1

im 15, started teh year with an 18 index and brought it down to a 6.6 at the moment

Currently 19 years old started when i was about 10

 

10 years old to about 13 years old I was a 25-30 handicap,

 

at 14 Istarted to take golf seriously and dropped to about a 10-14ish by the time I was 15.

 

at 16 i was in single digits for the first time and got to a 7

at 17 i dropped 2 more strokes

last year i was down to almost a 3 then got in a car accident as well in September of last year.

 

After my 20 scores at the begining of this year I was at a 9 and have worked my way back down to just under 3 as of now.

 

Looking to improve even more during the winter and want to be scratch by mid summer of 2006

Right now I have a GHIN of 4.3 as a 15 year old, definetly looking to improve this winter and hopefully make Varsity in the spring. This is the first year I've had a handicap. Ultimate goal is to be better than scratch.

I started practicing and playing golf when I 12 years old. I shot around 90-100 so I was a 25 handicap when I first started playing and practicing. I worked at a course picking up buckets and balls for the next 5 years. It seamed every six months my handicap went down because I hit a ton of range balls. Freshman year in high school I was a 15 handicap. By the time I was a senior in high school I was a 4 handicap. I worked at a golf course in college and was a 4 handicap through college. After college I sort of quit playing for about 2 years. I would play about 5 times a year. I returned to the game 2 years ago with a great teacher and coach. I've worked very hard on my golf game praticing alot. I'm now a scratch golfer my handicap is 0. I play in tournaments because thats how I judge my skills, to play under pressure is what I like. I finished second in the Montana state am in 2004. I finished 14th in the Arizona state stroke play in 2004. I was leading the tourney after two days but fell apart over the weekend. For me tournaments are alot of fun. I'm now 27 years old. Its been 15 years of playing golf. 80 more to go.

I started at the start of last year of 26 but it quickly went up to 28.

 

At the end of last year i got it down to 18 and have had a very inconsitant year but have it down to 12 at the moment and hopefully 10 by the end of the year.

When I first played over ten years ago I was easily a 30 plus. I then played sparingly for the next five years while slowly lowering my handicap 27 to 25 to 23.

 

The last five years I have been playing more and more. The more I played, practiced, and understood the game along with buying better equipment, my handicap continued to get lower; 21 to 19. My game has significantly improved over the last two years with more time spent playing and practicing. I was a 17 two years ago and now I am a 14.8.

 

I feel that my handicap does not accurately reflect how much better I am playing. The one reoccurring theme is the one blow hole per round or three putting a long with consistency. My goal by the middle of next year is to be at a 12 or 10. I guess it will be a slow process for me and may be in the next ten years I could be a scratch.

First handicap was 22 in 1975, took me 3-4 years to get down to 4 and that's been the highest for me. Lowest was .4 in 1994 and am currently on 2.3 at age 47.

 

This is under the Australian handicap system.

I started playing in 1992. I was probably 18 handicap for about nine years. Then in 2002 I took lessons for about one year and dropped my index down to a 12. Didn't play too much in 2003 but my index was 10. 2004 it was 8 and this years low is 2.4 (currently 3.5). I've been working with a new instructor since June. My goal was to get down to scratch by the end of this year.

I applied for a Thailand Golf Association hcp (USGA regs) in June and got 16. Since then I've been working my way up to 21.7. Sad story, really...

First Hdcp was an 8, had played for about three years on and off.

Joined the local munny and was able to get the Hdcp down to a 1 in about three years. Then there was life to live and the cap went back to 5-6 for the next five years, marriage, kids. work. Told my wife about 5 years ago I wanted to try to work on my game, kids were growing up and I had some time to practice. I found out that if you practice, play and work out you can be scratch, but it took too much time away from the family. Then got the yips and lost interest in scoring and found the game to be more enjoyable when I played for fun(played for myself and not score). I don't take enough time to practice and the hdcp has reverted back to 5. Still have the yips, but when they are under control can still play a bit. :tongue:
