Bad information like this that permeates down to even retailers that are big box high volume stores that are filled with people that don't really know.

This isn’t bad information, this is information straight from callaway and exactly how I ordered mine. There is no “stock order” through callaway for this club right now.

I don't know that all Golf HQ's does. Golf HQ is not a chain in the traditional sense, but the local store did on Friday. I will be in there later today to see if they still do.

Let me know if they do and I'll be down there as well. Reno, NV store that is.

I hit the triple diamond last night at the local store. I am a little torn. I like the shape of the triple, but for some reason, and I know I may be in the minority. I like the feel of the standard subzero. I also like the sound of the standard. the numbers were fine with the triple, other than to say I got a little higher ball speeds with the standard over the triple. I didnt get to try it with the shaft I play so i need to do that.

You will have a harder time finding these at big box like Golf Galaxy and Dicks Sporting goods does the purchasing. They tend to cater to the majority and not stuff like this.

That's a perfect example of fitting the club to the player. It was a disappointment to YOU, but sounds like you don't need a fade biased head and lower spin...

I didn’t find it spun too much, just that the feel was different and I am still not sure that I like it or not.

I also like the louder sound of the regular sub.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes the louder sound. Let’s me know I’m hitting something.

Long winded post incoming.

I’ve not typically been a fan of Callaway drivers. Something about the rounded face and overall footprint just never jived with me. Briefly tested both the original Epic and Epic SZ when they were current. Couldn’t get the sliding weight far enough in the toe to not hit it left, and just didn’t get the right launch window and spin with the SZ. Never hit the Rogue and same for the Epic Flash aside from a couple swings with the regular Flash a friend of mine picked up recently.

Triple Diamond - took a flier on this head and at first look I wasn’t crazy about its shape either. But...finally got it out on the course tonight and when actually teeing it up, the slimmer heel section as it moves away from the hosel, overall profile, and “straight” face looks awesome. Just screams “fast” to me. The 10cc is only mildly noticeable but in a good way. Due to lack of experience with the other versions I don’t want to make any sound comparisons, but evaluating it alone, it’s got a higher pitch “crack” to it and sounds powerful to me. I prefer the duller sound that you might hear from a Taylormade, but after a few swings it didn’t bother me.

I’m in full-on test mode right now, but I only had my 2016 M2 with me to compare as I kind of have a good baseline with that. One caveat: M2 was setup with a shaft I am very fond of and the TD was tested with a HZRDUS Smoke 60, not a shaft I have liked in other heads and also in different flex than I’d choose. Bottom line, good for good they are very similar in distance but dispersion-wise, the TD was better. I will say that I had to catch the M2 in that mid-high toe hot spot to get it past the TD, but out of the middle they were nearly identical depending on the ball used. It definitely has a tiny fade bias which is my preference and a couple clicks on the sliding weight would probably get me to a completely neutral flight. It was probably 75% small fade, 25% dead straight minus one ball out of the heel which faded a bit more and came up about 10-12 yards short. I have had a little bit of the lefts with a couple other heads this year and I saw zero of those. I was also able to move the TD a bit easier high and low whereas the M2 just kind of has one flight.

So, more testing to come especially in some different shaft options but really liking what I’m seeing. I do want to try out the standard Flash SZ but based on reviews and the like, I was concerned that it may be too low spin which is why the TD seemed to fit in nicely for me.

I was able to hit one today from a demo day, both on the range and on the course. I will most likely end up buying one and sell my m3 440. The fabe bias was noticeable where I did not miss one left in the 40 or so on the range, even when I hit it off the toe. I didn't think it was hard to hit a draw though when I wanted it. I noticed I started to swing faster since I wasn't worried about the left miss and as a result was hitting it about 15-25 yards farther than my m3.(the course was wet after a bunch of rain last night so roll was inconsistent but carry distance is definitely 15 yards farther). TO BE CLEAR, I dont think the club is longer, but since I am more confident in not losing it left, I hit it farther. Could be the shaft ( A tensei TX Orange 60gm) but it seemed to launch a little higher than my m3 with a speeder 7.2 ts x with both heads in 9 degrees. I will most likely get it if I can sell a few of my old clubs and shafts for my m3 to offset the pretty high price.

Also, I was able to hit the standard sub zero last week and thought it spun less than the triple diamond, but it was too low spin for me and felt a bit more hollow.

Haven't spent a ton of time with mine, but I think it's here to stay. More forgiving than my og epic sz and the fade bias is pronounced. Having a left miss has really added some confidence. Need to confirm on trackman if there are any gains or what spin numbers are looking like. That being said the dispersion and forgiveness is much better with the same shaft.

Awesome, thanks! Is the retail TD head suppose to look more like the TA or TC tour TD heads?
