Retail vs 3 Diamond

Great pictures. As I mentioned several times on this site the 3 diamond head is much larger and without the horizontal crown line. Most people like compact heads but this is why this club intrigued me so much. It’s a larger head with more MOI and looks more like my Rogue!

It is literally a completely different club. More differences than similarities.

Have you hit it? Wonder if it has the flash face or not.

The EFSZ is 460cc. How can the 3 diamond version be larger ?

Haha great point. I am assuming he meant It appears larger because of the different shape, but its not "larger". It is actually a smaller head (445cc). However the different shape is slightly longer back to front but with a lower profile. More pics below. The one with the shaft in it is the 3 diamond head and the one without a shaft is the standard Sub Zero tour issue.

3 diamond head also has slight fall right fade bias.

Jeesh. Even the non diamond tour SZ doesn't have the line on it. As mentioned previously, this was supposedly put on at the request of the tour staff. Funny that it seems to be absent from all the tour drivers I've seen pics of.

When I said larger I meant larger footprint front to back. Think Epic vs. Rogue. Sorry for not being more clear. The two diamond is a more compact looking headshape I was told from someone who owns one

No worries.

As an experiment, next time you have 2 identical drivers, put them down on the ground, putting your eyes directly above and right between the 2 of them and tell me if they appear to be the same size.

Then, switch them and tell me what happens. :)

Callaway drivers are going the way of Scotty Cameron with all their staffers playing tour only models

Something about it bothers me. If the driver works for me, that's great. But I didn't like when TM did this either. They have these pros touting the companies latest and greatest. When in all reality, they're playing a completely different club.

Agree! And we are the one spending money and they are the one making money for using them.

And does one look more "pointy" in this pic and the other more rounded off?

I like the shaft you have there.

So who's gonna flip out over the prospect that there may be two different triple diamond heads seen in Gooch's witb. One could help you hit the longest and straightest drives of your life. But how will one sleep at night without knowing! :russian_roulette:

So since you decided to stir it up in 2 different places,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sorry ? Where do you see 2 different triple diamond heads in Gooch's bag ?

Both of Talor Gooch's drivers have the triple diamond marking, the 2nd one is blacked out with Sharpie:

OK, you have a different picture than anything in the other thread but that still doesn't mean there are 2 different kinds of 3 diamond heads which I believe is pretty clear what xjohnx was saying.

For the record I said there MAY be two different 3 diamond heads. There also MAY be black sharpie coloring over the second one. There also MAY be life on mars. There also MAY be a supermodel in my bed when I get home tonight.

I certainly wasn't stirring anything up or fretting. I've got enough of my own problems to worry about. Just pointing something out that I found interesting.

Sharpie over the diamonds is just to designate between the two heads. They are the exact same shafts, heads, setup with some minor differences, you have to be able to tell the two apart.

Though you're likely 100% right, the two heads have different weights and can't be differentiated immediately based on that. There's always a chance there's more to it. Could be something negligible, of course.

Or MAYBE, just maybe... I am trying to have some fun with the fact that people are so interested in the triple diamond SZ while sharing that there is a diamond Chrome Soft out there too.
