Hosung Choi @ AT&T

Overnight global star Hosung Choi will play in Pebble Beach at AT&T Pro-Am

In Japan, Hosung is known as "Tiger" as "Ho" means tiger in Chinese character. Japanese characterizes Hosung as dancing tiger's golf finish.

In Korea, his swing is known as "fishing" swing.

In US, by the special request of Aaron Rodgers, they will play together.

So looking forward to watching Hosung's entertainment and I do hope his great result in his first PGA appearance.

Total BS The Masters doesn't host a tournament for lower ranked pros with unusual swings - so provincial and exclusive. We all know it could be held middle of July, just water one of the holes well and play it 18 times, LPGA could have a hole, too, why not?

And seriously, I'll be watching and hoping he beats a few guys.

No it's not ironic. It's fitting.

LOL.

I knew you guys would comment that. Here is better and more educated explanation.

This is the Tiger "Ho" pronouced in Korean and "Hu" in Chinese.

It's not ironic that no Chinese kids are being named Fēi ěr (Phil).

Fact. https://www.google.c...1767526288.html

Reminds me of googling after seeing "The Kings Speech". That kings speech impediments was reportedly in part depending on him being forced to be right handed while born left handed.

Research has shown that roughly 91% of all people are right-handed. Those are strong numbers - compelling numbers.

It begs the question: Was he really born left-handed?

In Phil's case, he's basically a right-handed person who plays golf as a lefty. This leaves it wide open to a debate about choice and will. And generally speaking, one must have the will to make a choice to overcome doing things that are regarded or viewed as abnormal. This applies to everything in life.

I think a 6-week conversion course as a toddler would get most of the 9% to convert.

Choice and will.

with all due respect, lefties ain't got nothin' to do with this topic. Let's talk about Hosung, tiger, fishing, dancing........

Apparently Rory isn’t a fan of him being there. It’s not really Rory’s place to say who should and who shouldn’t be there. I guess it’s been too long since his last controversy, time to stir the pot.

Well, if he has been invited because of the fact that he is a bit of a “freak show”, and not because of his actual playing ability, then Rory is probably right. However, with the way that Rory has been playing, one would hope that Choi doesn’t kick his butt. That would be a bit of an embarrassment.

Is he playing as a professional or as a "celeb"?

He's a pro.

So is his exemption because of the goofy swing antics or his merits as a pro? Unfamiliar with him really.

Goofy swing antics, mostly.

It is true his swing has brought the golfing world's attention and got him the invite.

But he did win the Casio World Open late last year.

More than likely he will probably struggle with the course length/condition in the US.

Hosung Choi is currently ranked #194 in the world and as mentioned above won the Casio Open in Japan in November.

He's just behind golfers like Sean O'Hair, Robert Streb, Matthew Southgate, Nicolas Colsaerts and YE Yang and just ahead of Soren Kjeldsen, Kevin Streelman, Padraig Harrington, Rory Sabbatini and Ollie Schniederjans.

My guess is Rory has only seen video of him and has no other knowledge of him. Of course Rory brings up the tired old line of someone taking a spot away from a PGA touring pro. Utter BS. I guess he forgets about sponsor exemptions. Like the ones he received when he began his professional career. Though I'm sure he didn't think then that he was taking the spot of some other touring pro.
