KBS CT Tour Putter Shafts

I put one in an old style (but newer head) Ping Anser with the slot and I was shocked at how much more consistent I was with the putter. I have never thought about shafts in a putter much, but decided to experiment and glad I did - sounds weird, but I feel like I don't miss the sweet spot much anymore and the weight feels more "balanced" Plus the matte black with a Pingman grip on it and the gold/bronze head looks AMAZING!

I had an extra 355 tip so I stuffed it into my Newport centershaft. Looks awesome and feels great for a 40 dollar shaft.

 

I have a spare brushed black shaft with a 355 tip that was 34” in a plumbers neck if anyone wants to try one cheap and that length works for them.

Wish I had a SAM to verify ; initial feedback;

**had a true temper ysc (old cameron stepped shaft) in the putter head previously** bettinardi bb8 tri sole , Dass (or 303 ss) fly milled

A touch less skidding , appearance of a quicker roll firmer feel - this is the biggest diff btw the CT and ysc with the firmer crisper feedback on contact matte isn’t too matte!!!!!!!spin went down ? - sorry , just jokes on WRX !!!!!!

I'll share my experience with the shaft.

120gm in pvd black, very nice looking shaft.

I use a stroke lab black 10 @ 35" long and I love it in the stock setup. Rather than altering that I wanted to try something different (armlock) and I built up an Odyssey milled collection 2 with a trashed face (mesh screen fell off) after removing the face insert and installing a copper one, milling it flat, bending upright 4-5⁰ and lead tape added to get head weight up to 400gm, I installed the shaft and cut to a finished length of 39", blew on a long grip and gave it a roll.

After reading a lot of talk about the shaft I was expecting a stiff but responsive shaft but it is incredibly soft compared to the stroke lab. To the point where it feels contact with the ball deflects the shaft and causes the ball to stay on the face longer.

I like the overall look and feel on short putts but on longer lag putts I think this may be an issue. I don't have the setup to test 30 footers but hopefully once courses open I'll be able to test it properly and provide proper feedback.

You can't compare a 39 inch putter with a 400 gram head to a 35 inch putter with a 365g head. The KBS is definitely stiffer than a stroke lab.

It’s a shiny pearl white, just like their iron shafts they offer in white. Great looking putter shaft that really stands out!  This setup looks sweet with the red pistolero grip

Cool!  What putter did you put it in and did you bend it?  I have one that I want to put in a Ping Fetch (mallet) that has a 90° hosel bore, so it will have to be bent for loft & lie.

Toulon Chicago. I did not need to bend it. Installed over the peg and ended up around 10* of toe hang. Pics are not great but here are a few

Finally took a shot at creating my own CT Tour putter shaft. I have a SC Flowback 5.5 which has the .390 shaft over the hosel. Since the CT Tour only goes up to .370 tip I was SOL. I ended up buying a .370 tip C Taper 130x at 43”. I measured where the shaft got to .390 from the tip side and cut. It’s a very tight fit over the hosel but I was able to bang it on, I butt cut it to get it to play 33.25” with my SuperStroke GT Tour grip. So far it feels nice rolling on my indoor putting green.

I was finding myself in this position the other day as every kbs shaft seems to be on backorder these days. Finally found a CT tour (albeit a 0.355). I'm hoping that cutting off the tapered portion (3/4 inch?) will allow it to fit and not change the characteristics much..

I've been steadily ordering CT Tour shafts in .355 and .370 in various finishes. Just got two satin black PVD delivered this week.

Where are you finding these? Checked all over the web and at a few big box stores all to no avail.

I cannot find a reason to spend $200-$300+ for a putter shaft. I would probably putt worse with one and find it all a real clever piece of marketing.
