Lower spinning drivers! Ping G400 LST vs Epic Sub Zero.

I have a high driver spin so I want to know which driver would be better? Is there really differences in them to where I should consider one over the other in regards to one has too low of spin whereas one has less but not too low? Expected trajectory, etc.?

 

Currently I use a Ping G400 SFT (draw biased one) and would like to stay in the Ping line but not required. I just don't want something too low and with no height that will NOT help my game. I have a negative AoA I am told and play a fade but want to correct that to a draw with some practice!

I've hit both plenty....The Epic SZ is a beast of a driver but yeah a little dull. In retrospect it really is like the original Ping Rapture, a loooooong driver but dull to hit. Still the longest, hottest, low spin driver i've ever hit. But telling that i don't actually use it.

 

G400 LST is a fantastic all around head .

 

I am a pretty big believer that if you pair the right shaft , most players can make any G400 head work.

 

I have a Max with a fast SS, but use a 80g Black Tie and it works pretty well

Only issue I can see with you going to the LST is that it is open and much more fade biased than your current driver.

 

I think the LST would exacerbate your fade. I fight a hook when I get too fast and the LST is perfect for me.

 

With you hitting a fade, you might look at going to a lower loft in your current driver? Or going to the new 410 Plus or G400 standard or Max head.

 

And I know it sounds like a cop out, but I would find a golf shop with a range or launch monitor to test them against each other.

I agree with the above comments, both of those heads make it difficult to hit a draw. Im not sure what loft you need but you could always add loft with the adapter and that will close the face a bit. Going from an SFT to an LST or Sub would be a huge change, maybe baby step it and try a standard head and lower the loft and see how that goes.
