2019 Ping Blueprint Irons - New in hand photos

As a fellow S55 fan, where do you sit on shafts S55s vs BPs?

I just picked up a set of BPs that I will need to reshaft and figured I can just grab the same I have in the S55s, but thought it worth asking. Thanks.

Mine came in with DG s400's. Too hard on my aching elbows, which was a shame, performance was solid

So I moved lighter to XP 115's x100. Performance even better

If I don't 100 percent fall in love with the '19 p790's that the tour van is building with 110 recoils ... I may put recoils in the BP's

Ideally I would like to put the original shafts from my s55's (Nippon 1150gh X) in .. but steel

I am also considering moving over the Fuji MCI 100s's that are in my s55's or the MCI 120x's I have laying around into the BP's .. again need graphite. My ho side thinks Fuji Pro 115 x's

Ya I went Recoil 95s in a set of JPX 919 Tours this year and kept swapping back to the S55s because they were just more consistent.

Still struggling to find that 'perfect' non-steel shaft. I might try the Blueprints with the C Taper Lites to start (they currently have something to heavy for me) and if I'm not wow'd, I'll check graphite/composites.

Called ping today, notified me that they could not adjust the swingweight on these irons, somewhat upset regarding this. Anyone else run into this issue?

Have to say those are good looking irons. Im a cally guy but they look good. Probably out of my hitting league though.

Not reshafted by a 3rd party. They said basically because they don’t use the CTP ports they can’t adjust them which is a lie.

It’s probably because they won’t pull and reshaft the heads. They use a hosel weight and a toe weight to insure the CoG stays where they want it, so they can’t just swap toe screws.

I assumed that was the case. I need them bumped up two SW’s I don’t see 3 grams changing the CG. Disappointed to say the least because they’ve been able to change the SW on my i200’s and Iblades I had previously.

The weighting in the i200 and iBlades can probably be done with the elastomer insert, keeping the weight fairly centered. {shrug}

Why not just use lead tape? If it's good enough for the King....

hate the look of it and I need to send them to ping to get the loft and lie changed so I figured while they’re there they could do that as well.

I did get some extra weights direct from PING but only because the swingweight on my 9 iron was off by a few points

Sent my BPs in today - instead of faffing about with pulls off eBay I'm just getting them reshafted with CFS's by Ping, then they'll match my S55s incase I want to swap in/out the 5-6.

I am asking about having the Swingweight of the BPs match my S55s, so we'll see.

With the holidays it took a looooong time to get the BPs back, but I got them back Friday and played with them this weekend. Saturday some really crisp on the button 7 irons, today... erm ya except for the driver, PW, and some decent 4-5ft putting, it wasn't the best round.

There's a line item on my SOW for matching 12345XYZ (ie, my S55s serial #) and really they feel very comfortable weight wise to me. Whether they did anything or it's just that S55s and BPs heads + same shaft, length, grip specs puts them in the same ballpark.

I see where Jennifer Kupcho just shelved the i210's for the blueprints. Interesting to me, as that doesn't happen often on the LPGA.

Can someone give me a picture of a 7 iron head sitting next to a ruler/tape measure? So I can see how long the clubhead is.

keep being tempted to order these, need help length wise - 

 

I am + 1/2 inch on a Mizuno 37.5 inch 6 iron(919 Tours so after they changed how they measure), Blueprints are listed at 37.25; now do they measure differently or do I just order +3/4 inch?

 

soooooo confusing with everyone measuring things differently.

You're correct @scott_Donald:  +3/4

I've got S55s and BPs and previously had the 919Ts and they were all the same length when done that way.

perfect thank you, all the ping stuff confuses me, heading back to hit them tomorrow - I am 2 up on Mizuno so assume that's 2 up on ping. I find it weird seeing that they are decimals with the lie, they are flatter than Titleist by standard. 

 

I don't like the ping fitting system going by height and hands from the floor. 

 

Right now Green and +3/4 I think for me.

Ya I play Red dot +3/4in (S55s/BPs) or +1/2in (I210s) and that matches (there or thereabouts) a standard Mizzy lie +1/2in.

IIRC, the lie ends up being 1/4 degree different here or there, but when I swapped between the 919Ts and S55s - which I did every month or two - I didn't notice any difference when taking my stance or more importantly making a swing.

 

Never shoulda sold the tours darn it 😉

I love my 919 Tours too, I just want to play blades again.

Went and hit these today again - 4,7, W and these are super easy to hit, noticed no difference really to my 919 Tours in forgiveness(except for 1 shank). Surprised how soft they were to hit after all the reviews on here. 

 

Was tempted to not get a 4 iron and what for the Blade replacement but no real point. 

 

I still think the theory for me is the smaller the head then the less margin for error makes them easy to hit the middle for me, then again its depth on the face where I go wrong more often than not.
