Oooooooo I got this

What do you mean by smallest:

  • Narrowest face from heel to toe?
  • Head with the lowest volume in cubic centimeters?
  • Shallowest face? (Low profile)

Your pro or tour heads tend to be smaller than standard heads....

But, some heads such as the EX10 Beta (Tour Edge) have a deeper - or taller - face which a player with an aggressive swing can handle.

And, why do you ask? More details can help us answer your question.

What's In The Bag (Summary as of October 2020)

How how smallest Ccs

Of recent vintage the TM M3 3 wood is 139cc. The SLDR 3 wood suggested in a previous post is 155cc. Most 3 woods released these days seem to be 160-200 cc neighborhood. That said the size of the club head should be one of the variables used when deciding what to play. Not the only one. The design of the head can hide the actual CC size. Deep face, shallow face, longer heel to toe, etc all play a part in choosing your club.

At the end of the day play what you hit the best and most consistent. Regardless of the CC size.

  • 1 year later...

I’m looking for a replacement for my Callaway Epic SZ which is 159cc. I like that size, don’t really want to go bigger and the new SZ (Epic Flash and Mavrik are bigger). Any suggestions on other new models to look at. 105ss, smoother tempo, looking for a mid flight, versatile off the deck and tee.

By far the smallest I've seen is the Cobra F9 Tour. The new version -- SZ Tour -- is the same measured size and looks to be basically the same club with a new paint job, but I haven't seen it in person. I never bought one but I loved hitting the F9 Tour. It's a small 13.5 head with standard length shaft, so it hits low spin bullets.

[The smallest five wood I've seen, FWIW, is the TS3. Can't believe how much smaller it is visually than the other woods in that line. It almost looks like a hybrid by comparison.]

Oh, and the TaylorMade SIM titanium version 3W is pretty small. (But HARSH. Can't believe how awful the whole SIM line feels. Bricks).

Hmm. I wouldn't have thought so but the facts are the facts. It was one of many things that didn't click for me with the M5 but the other faults for me may have contributed to me seeking other things that didn't work. Thanks for clarifying and sorry if I steered someone wrong.

Regarding the M6, yes, I went that direction...only after trying the new SIMs. Got better numbers with the M6 but now I'm off topic.

15* TM M6 w/Atmos
19* TM SIM Max w/Ventus Blue
