Wasn't this always the plan?

 

Disruptive Ads within each thread that generate site Revenue?

 

This water was tested a few years ago, when there was talk about a No-Ad subscription model.

Here just to say I am also getting video ads popping up in between posts in a thread that are auto playing with audio.  Killing my vibe here at work as I stealthily browse GolfWRX instead of being productive haha.

The audio issue should not be happening and they are looking at it. The mini player scrolling out of screen we are discussing.

On my desktop, the mini player starts playing video and audio as soon as I scroll to it as I am going up or down the thread.  If I scroll enough for it to go out of the page, it moves to the bottom right hand corner of my screen.  

 

On my phone, it's there and the video auto plays.  But the audio is muted by default.  It's an iPhone 13 on Safari.  Desktop is Windows 11 on Chrome.

Not sure if this will be helpful or not but, I am not experiencing any of these issues.  I am running the full site (not mobile) using Opera on Android.

Still experiencing it. It was bad enough to have ads after the first post. Now, the ads talk, lol

Thank you for jumping in to respond. As I type this, I hear just people cackling while they apparently play golf. No video I can find anywhere (Chrome mobile on Android). I cant imagine this is an ad, as it is literally just guys laughing so much they are coughing. No clue what I'm listening to.

Came back into this thread and now have a Callaway ad playing in the middle of the thread and an Expedia ad playing in the sidebar.

 

When I scroll to the end the Callaway ad follows me in the bottom right corner but I am still getting the sound from both ads.

 

Surely we can all agree that ONE ad with blaring audio is bad enough? lol

Seriously, what's with the rash of auto playing ads in the past few days? Bad enough that we have to deal with the ginormous banner ads at the top of the pages, and the large ads inserted after the first forum entry, but now we have multiple auto playing ads that play again after hitting pause? Sheesh.

Worse yet, everytime you come back to the page from opening a new tab...the Ad/Sound start again!!!

The ads stayed muted on Safari on my Mac. My issue was MS edge on Windows which I won't be able to check until Monday

The mini player I see rolls to the gutter on the bottom right. I don’t see it blocking content.

The ads have been muted for me today (Chrome Android mobile). Hopefully others are finding the same. Thank you for being diligent in addressing this issue for us. Have a great rest of your weekend.

That is the expected behavior.  As you scroll past it, it will go bottom right gutter if its a video ad.

I was under the impression that I would be ad free due to paying an annual fee.  I was in the past.

Back in the office this am and can report that on MS Edge/Windows the ads play but the sound is off. Hopefully it stays this way.

Same for me. Brave browser (when unblocking content) on Windows 11.
