Steele47 how about an little elaboration?

Perhaps meaning the top of his head influenced the shape of the top line and toe of the iron? I can kind of see that, but I am more thinking it was Ping's Zing iron (with the more pronounced toe) that Gumby's      shape inspired. 🙂

Ping Zing 3 Iron Graphite Flex Aldila 0810432 - Mikes Golf Outlet

Elaboration?   Sure.  Fine.

I used to play Gumby back in the day.   We're talking big money games.  We'd step up on the tee usually at Los Serranos (CA) where big money games are easy to come by.  Gumby would 'be all',  hey. Steele47,  "how bout 20 bucks front, back, full 18 press when P'd!".   I'd be all, 'sure you rubbery lil freak!  And stay away from my wife!!"

Good times!  Luckily we're both still teeing it up together twice a week and both have to managed to stay away from my wife...

the Gumb's has quite the flop shot.

Not a huge Jackson Browne fan but there are a few of his songs that cannot ever be torn away from my youth.

Exactly. Well said. Those two songs were dare we say monumental in our day regardless of how much you dug Jackson Browne. The girls loved the hell out of him so I faked it.   LOL

Story time:

We have a fairly new record store here in our little city owned by a nice young couple living their dream.

I don't personally have a turntable but bought one for my daughter last year so I'll pick up old Christmas albums which she likes.  I bought Steely Dan's Aja for her a few weeks ago and asked if they had Tapestry by Carole King which they did not.  So, as I like to do, I stopped by the coffee shop down the street for a latte then walked over to the record store where the owner greeted me with said album.  Nice.  They're great folks just trying to make an honest living instead of sitting at home collecting a check.  Never thought I'd say this but I find myself tipping more these days if you just COME TO WORK!

He was a roady for many years so whenever I stop in, if the place is slow and he's not busy, I'll ask him for his experience with a specific band or person.  Great stories, and believable because you couldn't dream some of it up this side of a peyote night in the desert.

Tapestry - 1972 album of the year

So Far Away - no Grammy here but my fav from the album

Saw the Carole King broadway show in NYC a few years ago. It was great. I knew of her hits. But, didn't realize she wrote so many popular songs in the 60's.

Doobie Brothers - What a Fool Believes

Didn’t know this thread existed, but since my profile pic has been Michael McDonald since I created my account, it only seemed fitting that I post this song.

Also, I’m into recording music about as much as I’m into golf, and I collect and restore old recording gear and instruments. An interesting fact is that I own the two keyboards you see at the beginning of the video: The Yamaha CP-70b Electric Grand Piano (great for touring back in the late 70s/80s because it could be amplified and broke down into two pieces, which was much easier than lugging a real grand piano across the country) and the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 synthesizer. There were geniuses like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs that were building ultra modern and expensive computers in the Silicon Valley in the early 80s and there were also guys like Dave Smith building ultra modern and expensive musical electronic instruments in the same place, you just hear about first names more. Both types of fellows are/were legendary. Just some pointless info for you guys. Hit ’em straight!
