I think starting price is roughly $750 for a putter. This is just very basic. I have a friend who has been rolling one for a couple few years now and that is what he paid.

It seems the stuff he releases though on his site are well over $1K. Probably has to do with stamps and welding done to the putters. I know that the one I wanted was over $3K when I was going through a pricing exercise with him.

Tyson is very creative and makes some great stuff. The putters are great looking but his accessories are really cool too. I have several headcovers and ball markers. Just haven't been able to swing that kind of dough yet for a putter.

Sell the ball markers and divot tolls and you’ll have money for his putter.

Why is it damn near every account that posts answers regarding TL is like 5 days old and has less than 20 posts???? This was the case 2 years ago on an entirely different TL thread. Honestly, I'm not trolling anyone, it's just ridiculous to believe it at times.

its a good question. i think one reason may be that a lot of the new posters are people who used to be more on TCC and were cameron guys that didnt really post on wrx but have now also started collecting Lamb stuff and wrx is one of the only places to do that. the was the reason i came over. i was on tcc for years and was very active. once i got into lamb stuff i came over here to chat.

then i am sure you have guys who are lamb enthusiasts and hear all about the bashing of Tyson and setup accts over here to defend him.

it used to be the same group of people defending him, but now that more and more people are collecting his stuff the complaints have gone down and are usually all made by the same 4-5 guys trolling Tyson. dont get me wrong there are some people with legit gripes, but anyone who has bought from the lambs knows that they almost always make good on anything. so the only real complaint left by folks is "they dont make enough putters" or "they are too expensive". to me those are silly complaints because if you want to make quality high end products then you dont rush out production, and if you do the market gets saturated and you cant justify price and you are soon out of business or are outsourcing your manufacturing to a larger machine shop and the name on the putter isnt made by the guys whos name is on it.

just my opinion of course

Fair point. Last thing I'll add is that in another post, albeit an account 3 years active, makes post number 5 out of the blue gushing over him, randomly.

I don't even know why this bothers me so much, the putters are excellent, but the fans are equally as hard to read.

i totally get your point. its hard to give an expert opinion without references to your knowledge. post count usually means you are reading more threads and learning (most of the time at least) it bothers me as well. but everyone is an expert these days. :cheesy:

on a side note, i do know for a fact Walker is gaming a Lamb, and a brand new one as i saw it before it was shipped out to him this week

Posters rag on Scotty for copying. Well Tyson needs to be ragged on, because his new pizza ball maker “theme” is a copy straight from Bettnardi’s pizza slice ball marker theme.

Also, why is Tyson making pizza markers from his donut blank mills? Don’t be lazy and make it a solid piece marker aka no hole in the middle!

I feel two different ways about this depending upon what day it is.

1. It is worth what someone is willing to pay(suckers), and being inspired by others is fine.

2. You are almost exactly knocking off other peoples stuff. See Lamb Krafted, pizza markers and other stuff.

Honestly I know LaMont from Mannkrafted and we ran Sunset Beach together so of course I am a fan of his and always will be. MannKrafted has been his website name since inception and on his putters before he went fully on his own, since 2009 or 2010. All of a sudden Lamb Krafted started being used? That is blatantly stealing, no borrowing, I guess being inspired by and that is the only one I will comment on because I am sure this thread is getting locked.

Programming CAD and putter making are two different things in my mind, some people can do both(very few), quite a few neither, and some only one. I want my putter made by a putter maker, not a CAD designer and marketer.

It's the name too. Lamb is very effeminate, he should have named his company Tyson Ram.

I doubt so much he's stealing the term crafted as I'm sure LaMont hardly had MannKrafted copyrighted. Nor was the pizza marker created the week it was released. I spent some time with Tyson in June and he had a 'prototype' then. The initial picture of the product was from May. I do want one of LaMont's single prong divot tools, though-- pretty neat. But he's not the first or last to make a single prong tool; and I imagine he won't be the last craftsman to add 'crafted' or 'craft'; 'krafted' or 'kraft' to their brand.

I say this without judgement-- I find your closing ideas shortsighted. I'm not comfortable making statements allowing, or insinuating, myself to appear as if I do know something that I don't. It's hard to know all of the viable putter producers (but let's be real here there's only a handful) and what they do well and where they fall short. I've seen Tyson's milling, handwork, stamping, etc. I'm as familiar with SC's; I've handled my fair share of and have dealt with BM's shop and men. But none of the above have impressed me as much as TL. However, I'd argue he's much better at making putters than you've insinuated (and that he's also getting proficient, and moreso than before, with CAD). And I would argue he's not as good of a marketer as you insinuate-- he's just much better than _most_ we've seen in this market.

I read the article on the site, he's an accessories maker that also makes putters.

Tyson Lamb makes the best ball markers i've ever seen.

He's far to special to sell a $600 putter, maybe a $600 ball marker.

What could the cool stuff be that will shock people? Maybe a $600 putter??!?!?

“We have some cool stuff coming in the next couple of months that will shock a lot of people,” Tyson said. “Big companies are going to notice. We are trying to do something a little different. We have some cool stuff planned.”

Stop it with the TL doesn't appropriate/copy/steal designs from others. I am actually not surprised to hear he is making Pizza Markers..

We've been down this path before, and it was locked. This will end up locked as well. Save the poetic waxing...
