Footboy Classics - Cleaning scuff marks?

Anyone of a good method of cleaning the scuff marks on the white section of the Footjoy classics?

 

Some of the white brush-on polish's look pretty ugly.

 

Thoughts?

Here for the comments. I found an old pair of Classics a couple of weeks ago and would love to get them looking a little better to the point that I could break them out...and kill my feet most probably but at least I would look good doing it.

Is the leather scratched or just stained/dirty?

Either way, what I would do to try and rehabilitate an old or damaged pair of leather shoes:

 

1. Get all of the dirt and grime off of them as possible. I will normally use a damp towel for this, paying special attention to clean the creases in the shoe.

2. After they have dried, wipe them with leather cleaning wipes that are designed to use on shoes. I have ordered Weiman Leather Wipes from Amazon and they do a good job. Again, pay particular attention to creased or damaged areas. These wipes will nourish the leather as well.

3. Again, after they have dried, liberally apply an appropriately colored shoe cream, particularly in areas that are cracked or damaged. I have used Moneysworth & Best shoe cream and it works well. Again, ordered from Amazon. You can't bring the leather all the way back to new, but this will soften and smooth it out. I actually use a Q-tip to apply, as you can really work it into the creases that way. Once that has dried, buff it out. Depending on how damaged the leather is, I may do this a couple of times.

4. Once the leather has been re-conditioned with the shoe cream, I will use a wax based shoe polish (like Kiwi) to help protect from further damage. This also helps in hiding scuffs.

5. Before heading back out to the golf course, you can swipe over the shoes with an instant shine sponge to put a silicone layer over the top (which helps to just wipe dust and dirt off of them after the round).
