Best low spin ball? AVS?

Hey guys.

I know most premium balls are low spin with drivers.

 

But, I am looking for a low spinning ball for my irons also.

 

Is AVS is the best and only option?

Best and only? No. I used to think so being an AVS user. But the TP5 has replaced it. It just does (almost) everything well for me and I picked up distance in comparison and got more greenside spin. I keep tinkering with others, but I keep going back to the TP5.

It's the Nike RZN Tour Black if you can find any. Failing that the AVX, or if greens are soft then the Tour Soft also works well.

 

But both are inferior to the 2 year old Nike.

Some two piece balls spin around the green a little. Callaway's Supersoft ball does. It's the ball I've been using in the winter mud and it spins a little. Since you want a premium ball, I play the Srixon Z-Star XV and it has those characteristics you want.

I spun an AVX on a chip around the green this weekend (note - was not intentional!) - unless you are hitting tour-caliber one hop check chips, it's not that bad around the green.

Nothing is lower spin than AVX with a urethane cover. Srixon XV or TP5x is the next closest, but still far off.
