Talking Cult Clubs - What are your all time Favourites ???

Had a horrible feeling that I was downgrading as I chopped in my 905R and MP33's for the shiny new toys on the block that were going to improve my golf no end (so I read) and instantly regretted it..

Getting that same sinking feeling now as I've just done the dirty on my trusty G410, who never did anyone any harm 😞

Srixon 745 irons. I tinker everything. Lord knows I try 5 different drivers each year and 10 shafts haha.

I always buy irons but none of them come even close to my 745s. I can't get them out of the bag

Best Players CB ever IMO

Agreed!  Gaming a mint set now.  As long as folks keep finding them nearly unhit in their garage I'll keep playing em.

Ping TISI Tec fairway woods. I play a 3 and have never found anything better for me. Miguel Angel Jimanez (sp.) played one until just a couple of years ago and I think DeMarco did until he started on the Senior circuit!

Same here, still playing my TiSi Tec 3 wood! Way ahead of its time and still the longest, straightest and easy to hit 3 wood ever made IMHO.

I also still play an Eye 2 LW (although I had to get the XG version to stay conforming). There may be lots of new high toe wedges out there theses days, but nothing plays like the OG Eye 2 (Often imitated, Never duplicated).

I loved my 975J and my Steelhead Plus strong 4, both with the EI-70 shaft.  Just got a used J last week off the bay - brings back some good memories.

I also had a set of TM 300 tour irons that I kept for a long time as a travel set (if the airlines break a club or lose my bag, I don't want it to be my gamers).  I upgraded those last summer to the 2013 X-Forged, and jeez, sometimes I'm tempted to make those my gamers!  2013 may be too new to be a cult classic, but they will be someday.

2010 Taylormade Raylor Hybrid, for someone with a fade/slice bias this thing is incredibly easy to hit.

I've developed my swing and now hook these off the planet, but for years they were a breeze to launch high, without fear of missing right.

I've had quite a bit of trouble finding one that is as easy to hit, without the draw bias, G410 was my answer. It still doesn't feel like I could hit it blindfolded like my old Raylors though.

Sonartec hybrid with a Hybrex Helix Tour shaft.  Hit one of best shots of my life at Bandon Dunes with it.

I know they're not old enough to be considered a classic yet by most people, but I truly believe Ping's Blueprints are squarely within this category. If you look at how many non-contract players have been picking them up, it's clear Ping did something special with that set. I game them and I just don't see myself replacing them anytime soon. They're just so good, so easy to hit, and for me have some addicting quality that makes a solid strike incredibly satisfying.

Ping G 400 Max driver is the real deal. I finally settled on the shaft I will use, and this driver is just amazing.

Another vote for this driver and recently I've been going straight from the Max to another cult classic, the F6 Baffler. Currently playing it at 17.5 with a 41 1/2 inch Chrome Elements + shaft that I found worked much better for me than the stock shaft. Even picked up a second F6 Baffler head for insurance as the current one looks like it's been hit about 2,000 times (but still performs as good as ever).

don't know how old the clubs need to be to be considered but along with V-Steel fairway woods I personally can't get away from my Steelhead XR irons, if they are not a classic yet the will be some day. I tried to replace them with T-300s and they were great but I gravitated back to the Steelheads

2019 is the 15th anniversary for the MP32s. Maybe we're treated with a limited release similar to the Titleist 680s?

I have 2 sets! You will have to pry them from my cold dead hands when i die.

A lot of these aren't considered cult classics in my opinion, because they were very popular at the time they came out.  Just because a club is old doesn't make it a cult classic.

A couple of cult classics to me:

1) Sonartec fairway woods

2) Scratch wedges, specifically the 1018 and the 8620.  Popular on Golfwrx but not to the general golfing public.  I think we have Scratch to thank for making grind options go mainstream

3) Never Compromise putters

I'm this close to buying a used set of PING i10s. Didn't necessarily have a cult following, especially compared to the i5s, but they were some of my first irons. I'd love to play them now with my current ability.

I’ll add one: 731 PM irons.

These irons have me working on something very stupid right now......

I guess I should add the rest of the "DD's all time cult club bag:"

r510 TP

'07 Burner TP (by exactly one tiny hair over the V Steels)

Nickent 3DX Genex (by one sentimental hair over the OG RBZ's)

731 PM's

Ping Eye 2+ Sw

Ping Eye 2 Sw

Ping Anser

I find it interesting that, for me, the top of the bag is so TMAG heavy and the bottom of the bag so PING heavy!
