V-Steel fairways.

I gave my cousin my OG V-steel 3 metal.  Could not find a replacement for it for years.  Finally got a SIM ti 3 metal last year which is based off the v-steel.  Couldn't be happier.  Trackman numbers are fantastic.  Perhaps TM will bring back something simliar to the R11 dot head.  It was a bomber for me and very low spin.  I put a huge crack in the face.  Finally, I had two FT-9TA.  One of the most difficult Cally drivers to play because it was so unforgiving.  However, when hit on the screws, the ball speeds were amazing.  I could see why Phil and other Cally staffers loved them.  Sold one and did a trade in on the other.  Regret doing that till this day.

Z745 irons, stopped into my local golf shop yesterday, found a set, with pretty mint grooves, soles a little banged up, for 299. Pulled the trigger after hearing so much about them on here, back up bag irons for sure. Put in a Nike vapor pro 3 iron I have sitting in the closet. Cult following back up bag

Glad your happy with the SIM ti 3 metal. However, the V-Steels are never leaving my bag. I 'll be buried with them someday.

My old Lynx Parallax Boom Boom 3 wood from the early 90s was absolute money for me from both the tee and fairway for a decade. Maybe the most reliable club I've ever had, it gave me 100% confidence every time I pulled it from the bag. Runner-up also comes from the 90s--the 60 degree Carbite Check Mate II wedge. The leading edge was razor sharp--I swear it had almost 0 degrees of bounce--you could open the clubface as far as you wanted and the club still sat flat. And the face insert actually imparted a bunch of spin. I had it for several years until one day I hit a full 60 yard pitch with it--the ball travelled a little less than 60 yards, but the insert came unglued just after impact and flew about 90 yards into the deep woods behind the green, never to be seen again...

Oh geez, fun topic.  List off the top of my head

Cleveland Hibore XLs (I still have 3 in my garage)

TM V Steel

Titleist 905R

Ping I3+ blades (basically the start of Pings current iron  styling)

Ping G400 line in general

Adams Idea Pro (tour issue) hybrids

Cleveland 900 series wedges

Cobra F6 baffler

Those are some of the older ones that ring a bell to me.  Some more current offerings that I think could hit cult status:  TM SIM line for sure, Ping i210s, TM MG wedges, TM spider line of putters.  Plus I think some of the things coming out this year could absolutely get there, but of course, too early to tell.

TBD - G430 Max 15* - 818 H2 19*- Sub 70 Pro 23* - i525 6-U - SM9 54* / 58* / 62*  - F22

Mizuno T-Zoid Forged 5-wood with the blue crown.  It's the Voldemort of 5 woods for me, I've never kept another one for longer than a season since I gave it to my younger brother (after close to five years of use).  Old school S300 in it, it was the most dependable club in my bag for a long time.

As a kid, I caddied for a gentleman that won our club's Senior Club Championship multiple times.  He had two of those wedges in the bag, and from 100 in, rarely had more than a ten foot putt.  I've looped for tour players whose short game wasn't that good.  Wore those faces out, completely.

How about the OG King Cobra Deep Face driver?  I think Norman and Tiger both used that one back in the 90s.  It was the first driver my dad bought me.  Loved it so much I pressured him to buy me the original King Cobra Tour irons.  I feel those are underrated also.

As far as recent clubs the hype around the g400 max is completely real.  I used to buy a driver every year without fail.  Haven’t seriously considered another since I put an orange tensei in it.  Also those first Cally Apex hybrids are out of this world.

I love reading this thread!

I guess I should add the rest
of the "DD's all time cult club bag:"

r510 TP

'07 Burner TP (by exactly one tiny hair over the V Steels)

Nickent 3DX Genex (by one sentimental hair over the OG RBZ's)

731 PM's

Ping Eye 2+ Sw

Ping Eye 2 Sw

Ping Anser

I find it interesting that, for me, the top of the bag is so TMAG heavy and the bottom of the bag so PING heavy!

Whoa, tell me more about the 3DX Genex, is this why they always find a way into my bag to this day? Tech predates the Cally Fusion by a few years and despite looking anti Maltby VCOG friendly are the easiest clubs to hit I've ever played. Absolute hammers as well, though I suspect they were among the original loft jackers. Bit of a mystery set if not cult.

Gonna build a virtual cult bag (taking "cult" as not hugely popular outside of wrx or forums in-the-know, so no V steel, Eye2, 2-Ball...):

3W- TEE CB2

5W- Cobra F6 Baffler

4-PW- Bridgestone J15 CB

GW- Adams MB2

SW, LW- Wilson PMP
