Tour 90 isnt necessarily 90G . I believe it’s raw length in S is 106 and 104 in R FYI these are not tapper tip so not constant weight like a nippon Would be

Your correct, I just said 90gr as a reference, in stiff the KBS tour 90 are 102g.  It just didn't work for me with a quick transition. I gather it might work better for a smooth transition/slower tempo.

My only real concern is will the 699 pro heads look massive to me after playing the Srixons for so long?

Pro at the range let me hit his 699 Pro 8 iron a few weeks ago, and they didn't look big to me at all.

I've been playing Nike VR Pro blades for the last 6 years, and just switched to my OnOff Kuro's, which are similar in size.

Can confirm - my swing is definitely on the smooth/slow end of the spectrum, and they are probably the shaft I am going to use when I put my order in.

Second this. The 699 Pro heads don't look like shovels in the least. I would say they are about the same size at the p790s.

Yeah, as a tangent... I wish Sub70 made something between the 699 pro and the 639 CB... I'm not sure exactly what category that is, but basically the cavity back with some tungsten in it... that design might not be in their wheelhouse... I have some ZX5s on order and have been exceedingly unimpressed with Srixon's customer service. I miss the warm embrace that is Sub70.

My bag SHOULD be set for awhile, but it's going to be hard for me to go non-sub70 next time I need new irons.

Go on srixons website and compare the specifications of the ZX5 vs the 699 pros and you might be surprised in the similarity size wise.  But yeah one is foam filled and the other is a multi piece club not a true forging.   I always have liked the srixon 5 series of clubs.

Only reason I didn't order the 699 is I have the 4 utility and that sucker is hot... I'm at 124 ballspeed (and about 175 yards carry) with my 7 iron right now... so the 699 7 iron would likely go 190+... which would be fun! but not would kill me on my wedge game...

Just got back from a range session with the 639 CBs, and loved them. I have to admit I wasn’t optimistic going in because the demos had the same shaft as the 639 MB Plus’ that I demoed last week, and I don’t think I’ve ever hit clubs that bad.

Even with a shaft I know isn’t a good fit for me, I was launching the ball high, straight, and getting consistent distances. I’ve definitely found my next irons.

I have a question for those who have hit the 639 MB.  After talking to customer service, they told me the CB are quite a bit more forgiving than the MB.  I currently have a demo set of the cb I have been testing, and was considering the combo set due to lower amount of offset on the shorter irons.  I am just curious if any one has hit both sets, or even the MB, what their feelings were in terms of forgiveness.  I currently play a 765/965 srixon combo set.  I like having the blade short irons for shot making/work-ability, but since my miss is thin would probably benefit more from the extra forgiveness of the cb.  But if the MB are maybe more forgiving than the 965, could possibly still go combo.

Thanks for any insight you may be able to provide.

I’ve demoed both, though in the interest of clarity I actually hit the MB Plus, and the difference is night and day. I’ll also fully own that I’m not a great ball striker. My impression of the MB was that I could never hit them well. In contrast, I just order my CBs today.

I have the 639 CB/MB combo (8-pw MB’s & 5-7 CB’s) and the MB’s have exceeded my expectations in terms of forgiveness. I came from Ping i200’s and this combo is more forgiving across the entire set- CB’s & MB’s

A guy I golf with a lot has the MBs and he's a middle-high  single digit guy and hits them great.  I've hit them a few times and don't find them difficult at all other than his shafts are too stiff for me.  I've played the CBs for several rounds and they are also very playable.  Think a combo set would be great.

I just read that they plan on releasing a 7 wood in 2022, now this has me excited.  For those that play the 699 or 699 Pro, what model from the traditional OEMs would you consider most similar?

I’m currently playing 714 ap2’s.  Any recommendations on which model I should look at.  Playing them with s300 and currently play at a 6 hndcp. I’m also a digger with my irons.

If you are looking for a straight swap, I’d say the 639 CBs or the TA III.

I'm currently testing the 639 CB and 639 MB plus, I also have the TAIII are set to arrive tomorrow.   I've been able to hit both on average I'm getting about 5 yds more carry on the CBs vs the MB plus.  this is using my  Swing Caddie 300i at the range.    If the TAIIIs  show same performance as the MB Plus I may pull the trigger on the TAIII in black because they look so good.

Jesus, what kind of epoxy is Sub 70 using? Went to swap out the shaft of my 4 iron and it won’t budge. I’ve never needed to apply as much heat as I did and it still didn’t budge. I’m not new to club repair, and typically work on my own gear and some friends. This is a first for me. Guess I’ll be dropping it off to my club magician.

I’d like to know this too. I was able to get the heads off, but it was a pain. I just heated the hosel about 15 seconds longer then I normally would and apply some force and they loosened up.

Yeah we're still working on a turnaround of 2-3 weeks.  Hopefully closer to two but just depends on order volume.  If you need any update on where you're at in the queue just let us know.

We are going to have more LH iron options in 2022 as well.  Thanks!

Any idea when in 2022. I was hoping to buy my wife a new set of the 799s for Christmas so early 2022 would be alright but if it’s mid to late I’ll probably have to look elsewhere.

So I wanted to give an update on my Sycamore 005 wide blade putter.  When I took it out for the first time the greens had been aerated and I was putting on sand, definitely not a fair test.  So today I finally got to get back on the same course and it did not disappoint.

Had a total of 28 putts (nine 1 putts).  Feel was solid and really good distance control.  Missed two 5 footers that was due to lack of concentration (maybe a little bit of overconfidence).  But this thing will hold the line if you put a good stroke on it.

Finished up with a couple birdies to go with 12 pars and 4 bogeys for +2 74 (previous score on the punched greens was an 82 with 37 putts).  My ball striking has been much better lately and I just needed to tighten up the putting, well looks like I might have found my solution.

This is an excellent putter at a fantastic price.

How could a putter NOT hold the line if you put a good stroke on it?
