A couple of notes...

We're working on a new indoor fitting facility which should open in March. We closed on the building and are working in there every day to get it ready. We'll have some retail space, two hitting bays, a putting green, a bar and a nice hangout area. It will be on State Street/Route 64/North Ave in Sycamore, IL and be open by appointment only. It will be called The Seventy and we're really looking forward to sharing that with everyone once it's ready.

The picture with all of the heads was not supposed to be shared simply because most of that stuff is in the prototyping/testing phase and either requires some tweaks or may not be released at all. They just aren't finished products for the most part. The 659 series will have a CB,  TC (Tour Cavity) and MB.  Those should be available in March.

Reading your post on pic shown being premature  and others here mentioning "699 re-design" can I ask if the current 699 & 699 Pro will have a different iteration this year or will they stay as is. Not implying a change is needed or warranted just asking per all the posts in thread.

I'm so confused. This tracing makes the JB wedge look way bigger but the Sub70 website lists the dimensions of JB and 286 wedges and the JB is smaller in every way.

I just measured each of my wedges, again note one is a 50 (286) and the other a 54 (JB). Reported (measured) units mm

JB toe face length 60(60)

Center face length 52 (54)

Heel face length 36(39)

Blade length 76.5(79)

286 toe length 61(58)

Center face length 55(53)

Heel face length 39(36)

Blade length 78(77)

Seems the measurements are reversed at least on mine.  All signs point toward the JB being bigger.

I'd be likely up for a set of 699 pro irons except shipping is just over twice as much as for example pro clubs for the same USPS Priority. Great looking clubs that are very well reviewed.

Titleist TSI2 15* DI7s

Ping G425 19* hybrid Accra TZ6

You're more than making that up in cost savings vs big brands......

I guess that means that you are outside of the continental US or need expedited shipping.  Otherwise you could just take advantage of the free ground shipping.

I Received my 699 pros this week. Like what many have said previously, the packaging and everything that came with it is just impressive. Big thank you to SUB70 crew for the build and service. . I had requested D2 swing weight with my 0311’s gen1 pxg and they got it wrong. The 5i was almost  D5…Not with the Black 699 pros.. I scaled them and all were perfect at D2. (I do like my 311’s, been using them for a couple of years now)

I got some sessions in on my simulator and played a full round today at the local GC. I have to say, these irons feel real good - they have more pop and more distance than my 0311’s gen1..  I’m very Impressed with these irons, and so far the Turf interaction is somewhat smoother to what I’m used to..which I wasn’t expecting.

well done Sub 70

I can take pictures If you need them… have some random older wedges lying around and game the JB and the 286.

JB is great, but I would go with the regular bounce option if I did it again… I just don’t find myself in tight enough lies to justify the lower bounce.

Please share pictures of both of them compared to something like a Vokey.

I'm on the fence between JB 58 low bounce vs. high bounce or even 56 low bounce bent to 58 for something in between.

Amazing - thank you.

Does the JB "look" bigger at address?

Slightly? Honestly, I saw this conversation and was not convinced it was correct... Got the wedges out and immediately noticed the difference. It's never bothered me on the course, and the wedges have a decent amount of rounds on them (as evidenced by the wear).

It's definitely not BIG, but I play fairly large heads (ZX5s, from Adams CMBs) so they don't bother me a ton... These replaced SM6s and didn't notice the difference.

We're working on a next generation of those but they aren't in production yet. It's possible they could be ready late Fall or Winter of 2022 but at this point they're still being worked on and there's no definitive ETA

Jay

Thanks for quick reply and candor. Another non related question regards trades. Would I call customer service if I have a trade that requires some explanation that could effect value outside stock parameters?

Thanks Doug

I've been a big fan and supporter of Sub70 so far (a few posts in here raving about my 3 wood), but I'm now starting to lose some faith in them.

I purchased the Pro Tour Fairway Wood back in June 2021, and I'm now about to send the club back to them for the second time due to what I assume has been faulty manufacturing.

The first time was less than 1 month after I bought it when the face cracked. This time is because I used the tool to unscrew the moveable weights and one of them gave way, completely stripping the screw part (first time I've ever tried to adjust it by the way). They indicated that the metal used in those is soft and that is what caused the problem (seems like something they should have seen coming).

The customer service has been great (offering to replace it each time), but it's kind of pointless having this club if I'm having to constantly send it back to be replaced. They did offer to replace it with another model this time so I'm choosing the 949x and hoping for better results.

Maybe it's growing pains for a young company, and if they do get it together I'll be happy to continue supporting them. We'll just have to see how this new club does...

I am thinking about demoing a lefty driver. I'm waiting until the temps get a little better so I can play it proper. Not sure on the regular vs the D. My M6 is D type, so I might get the D.

I don't think you have a choice; only the D version comes in LH. The Pro is RH only.

Oh damn, I could have sworn he said both were an option, but I'm not seeing it now.

You talked to someone there? Maybe they just haven't updated the site?

I think I was using the site chat, but maybe it was my imagination. But I thought it was 2 driver models and one fairway were available in lefty.

I was going to get the D anyway, but the option would be nice.

Interested to hear what you think. I'm on the hook for some other woods at the end of the year, but that's a long time away. 🤣
