Here are some pics of the 659 CB. I'll try and snag a couple pics of my 639 CB Raws that probably have 60-70 rounds on them. Somehow I don't have a single picture on my phone. I'll see if I can get an in hand photo of the leading edge/sole as well

I finally get to take my new 286 wedges out to the course for the first time tomorrow. They have been great in a couple of range sessions and sim rounds so far.

Hi Jay.  Can you share what is new about the new black finish you are using on the 659s?  It looks like you've gone from a PVD finish to a Melonite finish.  But, can you explain the change and what it means for the playing characteristics, look of the club, and its bendability?  Thank you!

659-TC's are up on the website, and look really good. Rethinking the MB-CB combo, and may just go TC-CB.

Sub 70 makes terrific products and has great customer service. While this is not news to Golfwrxers, I thought I'd add another data point.

Last November I bought a 939X 6-hybrid with a ProForce V2 F3 shaft. I was able to get it out on course once in December, then did two Trackman sessions (in February and March) with the club. Coming to the conclusion that the shaft was too heavy and launched too low, I contacted Jason to discuss my problem. As I had very recent Trackman data, I was able to describe my swing speed and tendencies in detail. Based on this information, Jason recommended another shaft (a Recoil ES F3) which he felt would be a better fit for me. The best part, however, is that he offered to swap out the ProForce for the Recoil at no charge. The Recoil arrived on Wednesday and I was able to use it on Friday....and it was a much better fit for my swing!

(if the 939X came in a 7H, I'd have already ordered one😉)

Jason - Thanks loads to you and Sub 70!

I was able to hit my new 939x 5 hybrid this last weekend and its a pretty good addition to the bag, hit it really well and it feels great.

Ordered the 4 hybrid yesterday and will get the 3 soon.

Are you using the Pro or regular X head?

Exciting day for me. Ordered the 639 CB/MB combo set today. Switched into the P770s last year thinking I would want some forgiveness but my iron play was no better, arguably worse. Most of all though I missed the soft feel of a one piece blade.

Been playing the JB wedges this past year and I like them so much that I figure the irons were worth a spin. Now the hardest part..... waiting.

Just ordered a pre owned set of the 699 Pros, 5-PW with KBS Tour 90 stiff shafts, + 1/2 inch length, 2 degrees upright. To get a set in very good condition for ~400$ is awesome, love me some DTC golf. Real question is which one of you was the culprit who send these back to the shop? 😅

My current gamers are the Mizuno MP-H4s, anyone played both and can compare?

Also interested in the hybrids and fairway woods. Which is the more forgiving model? The 939x or 949x?

I have to assume the 939x is the more forgiving only because the 949x is labeled the pro with a little more workability and a little smaller head. I play the 939x and have no problem with workability and the head is not big either, to me the head size looks the same as any other hybrid. It's been a great addition to the bag, its looks good and feels great.

The 949x description makes it sound like they are similar.

I only got to play twice in the fall with my 949x 4W, but it was easy to hit, with great ball flight.

A question for the Sub 70 admins here. The 699 and 699 pros are very clever. Allowing folks to choose less offset or more in a forgiving iron. I really like my new 799s and I understand the target market doesn’t really include guys like me. But I think like the Ping founder and will play anything that makes the game easier. On that note, any thoughts about doing something like the 699 pros and offering the 799s with less offset and having 2 models? Again, the club designer should be commended. The 799s are light years better than anything else in that category. But having something with less offset would appeal to a wider range of golfers. Keep up the great work!

I keep circling sub 70 and now I am looking at their 5w and 7w in the 949x. I demoed the 639CB (black) against 8 other irons and they finished second. Demoed the driving irons and realized I just don't get along with ANY driving iron. Now I find I have a pretty large gap between my 20* 4 hybrid (205 carry - shortened shaft a few inches to 38.5") and my 16* 4W (240 carry) and I am hoping that either the 18* 5W or the 21* 7W is the ticket. If I get the 5W and it carries 225-230, I might just drop my 4W for a while. If I get the 7W it is more likely the 4W stays. I have always been impressed with the Sub 70 stuff I have tried and would love to get it in my bag.

I think I am leaning towards the 5W. So much for not buying clubs in 2022.

Thanks for the question. I haven't heard anything in regards to a less offset 799 model but it's certainly a possibility. I wouldn't bet on it since it's a pretty specific/niche model and most players in that mold would want/need the offset...but I'd never say never

Any plans on refreshing the 699 and 699 pro?

Possibly around the end of the year. We've been working on it for like 18+ months or so. It's a hard design to improve on and since we don't have set product release cycles we weren't going to just come out with a new version that doesn't offer anything different for the customer

That's honestly refreshing to hear, in regards to not offering something up just because when there's no differences. I love what you guys are doing!

699 Pros arrived today. 5-pw, bought em in very good condition. There’s hardly a scratch on these!!! Any major website selling pre owned clubs would have put them up as “like new” I bet. Big shoutout to Jason and the Sub 70 team, you guys are awesome. Love the hat too! Will definitely get them out on the simulator this week and hopefully out on the course this weekend, will be happy to do a review.

@kess13

Theyre hardly used at all, few small marks on some of the soles but the faces are completely clean. Close to brand new. Order in very good condition and you wont be disappointed.
