Someone described Furyk’s swing as an octopus falling out of a tree!! Gotta admit that although I’m a huge Rory fan, if Furick had won I would have been happy! The second shot on 18 was sensational and you gotta give the announcers credit as the comment was made that if you wanted anyone taking that shot, Furyk is the guy.

Great Sunday and Rory made me eat words, which is fine. The guy played smart hitting nice cuts into greens and even made a few putts. Good win.

The problem with predicting Rory couldn't close was all the evidence was suggesting that he was going to win very soon, it just didn't make sense. There are other cases that are worth discussion.

He was top 5 for something like the last 6 tournaments, at some point the putts will drop. I blame Tiger for putting unreasonable expectations on the top 10 golfers right now - winning more than once a season is still hard!

He was top 5 for something like the last 6 tournaments, at some point the putts will drop. I blame Tiger for putting unreasonable expectations on the top 10 golfers right now - winning more than once a season is still hard!

Rory has set quite a high bar in his own right but yes Tiger set a standard that is hard, if not impossible, to follow. In fairness, in this era Vijay and others did it too but not with the consistency that vintage Tiger did.

I think Rory's putting prevents him from being dominate in a Tiger like way but he still has more than enough to win big and often. I believe he will be back to No.1 this season.

For me there was a huge difference yesterday in McIlroy's body language. He had his head up, the bounce was back in his step and most importantly, he didn't let missed putts damage his confidence - in other words, he didn't get all sulky and slumpy. They were quickly forgotten, as they should be.

That was the McIlroy of old and the body language we saw when he was winning majors between 2011 and 2014. Not sure what he's done to get it back, but it's a really good thing. He just needs to keep it up now.
